Islam is NOT a race. It is a belief.

===edit===

I've seen (some) Muslims on Y!A spread lies about Christian missionaries and aid workers by claiming that we only give aid to people who convert to Christianity first -- in an apparent attempt to discredit all of the Christian charity to predominately Muslim nations like Indonesia. While I am sure that there might be isolated instances of this hyped in the local news, most Christian aid organizations obey the express teaching of Jesus that we give help to everyone who needs it, be that person good or evil, Christian or pagan, male or female, white or black.

While it is true that no one has perfect information, I would prefer that all deliberate lies cease.

I agree with the others islam is a religion and not a race of people. Most Arabs are muslim but not all. Furthermore muslims have thrown and slung mud about others as well, are they going to apologize for all the erroneous hatefull things they promote? I don't agree with any vicious unproven gossip about any one or thing and I ever side has a story.

I certainly don't believe it, but it bothers me that people pick on the muslims like that. When did it become OK to be that mean? "Christians" have bombed abortion clinics, "Christians" have donned white sheets and burned down black churches, but I don't have a hatred towards Christians. It doesn't make sense to punish an entire ethnic group, race, or religion based on the actions of a select few.

When I meet a Muslim, I try to be free of prejudice. Sadly, it is true that their religion makes most of them quite pig-headed and stubborn, as well as irritating. Therefore, most times, I wind up not liking the person because they fit the stereotype so well. I'm not saying that all Muslims are terrorists, because that definitely isn't true (although you'd be surprised to read what the Koran tells them to do), but I am saying that because of their religion, they fit other stereotypes.

Islam is a religion, not a race.

Islam, like all religions, should be open to criticism. Religions should be criticized more, not less.
