I would not use semi-gloss paint on your interior walls. A much better choice would be a satin finish. It will clean fingerprints, dirt, etc. very nicely too.

The surface of the walls must be roughed up using 100-120 grit paper. If you use Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) it ,must be completely rinsed off with clear water or you will find yourself with the same problem. After sanding make sure it is free of dust then use a good primer such as Kilz. The primer must be allowed to fully cure before applying a final coat of paint. It really does not matter which finish you choose to repaint with, the wall would still need to be sanded. No paint will stick to a slick surface. Or stick to a wall that has been washed with TSP and not rinsed properly! You need to be patient and allow the primer to cure.

Semi-gloss might reflect the light too much and drive you batty!!

try eggshell finish- its a soft matte but easier to clean than flat and much better looking!

enjoy the fumes!!

Semi gloss is usually used for rooms exposed to moisture. ~
