Every faith seeks to explain the world from a human point of view -- human beings are limited and only have their perception (that changes over time) to explain what is unexplainable at any point in time. So, every faith, including a faith in athieism, is 'man made' ... this does not make those perceptions, or a larger reality, less than true.

The label of atheism is man made, sure. The actual idea that there is no god takes nothing to make. If man hadn't created god, there'd be no need to call the unbelieving of that god anything because it would just be the way things are. So no, they're not being hypocritical. It only seems hypocritical to you because you hold the idea of a god to be a certainty. You see it that god came first and atheism was created as a rebellion to god.

You'd have to define "man made".
Since there is no God, everything is "man made".
Atheism simply recognizes that there is no God. People have been "atheists" since before religion, during Christianity's uprising, and there are atheists now. It's not really a belief, it's simply a lack of belief. I wouldn't call it "man made".
It's not about "man made" religions. To say the beef is about "man made" religions, would imply that there are religions that are not "man made".

Atheism vs Christianity and visa versa - an age old seed grown up into a chestnut tree....I would like to think once all is said and done and we finally return to dust...If God be true then Eternity will be all at once a great eye opener and a great mouth shutter.

On another note...Belief is a conviction. Therefore Atheists do believe. they have a conviction that God does not exsist. They lack not in belief, they have plenty conviction about it...all they lack is God

*Yawn* Atheism is not a religion.

Saying that not believing in god is man made, just makes absolutely no sense at all.

If Atheism is a religion, not playing golf is a sport.

Ah, but Christianity claims *not* to be, which wrecks the symmetry, and hence also your argument.

It's not that everything man-made is evil, despite some impressive individual examples.

Since the whole essence of Christianity is that God is Man and therefore Man is God then why shouldn't it be Man-Made?

:-)

LOL - no. I like to think that if you had stopped to think about this, you wouldn't have asked the question.

But hey, we all have blonde moments! So no big.
