Any suggestions for easy recepies. The catch is we don't eat vegies(except potatoes or tomatoe sauce), chicken or seafood.
Is there a website for beginner cooks?
or kid friendly recepies ... since, we don't eat a lot of the poplular stuff etc.

ohhh I soooo read cookbooks and recepies on line... it's just no matter what I make... no matter what it is... if he doesn't make it himself he doesn't like it or says its okay. Granted I know I am not the best cook... (never made homemade mash potatoes.. bec. I like the instant ones better...with lots of velvetta and bacon bits) etc. But, I want my newborn son... to grow up saying my mommy is a great cook.. So, I want to learn to do better. that's all. Didn't need the lazy comments etc. ty though

First of all, shame on him for saying that! :( I've definitely made my mistakes in the kitchen too! But hey, we all have to begin from some where, right? Here are some suggestions:
-Subscribe to the Taste of Homes magazine! I looooove this magazine. They are entertaining, fun to read, and have easy, award-winning recipes. Of course, not every recipe will be what you want (I'm selective too!) but I think there's enough that I'm willing to try! They even give tips on how to have your kid(s) help & have fun with you in the kitchen. http://www.amazon.com/Taste-of-Home/dp/B00006KYZ9/ref=sr_1_1/104-0767909-8655137?ie=UTF8&s=magazines&qid=1182375042&sr=1-1
-Go to a bookstore (or to Amazon) and buy cookbooks that have easy-to-make recipes. One of my favorites is a cookbook that has 4-ingredient recipes. It's hard to mess up with so few ingredients! ;) http://www.amazon.com/Favorite-Brand-Name-Ingredient-Cookbook/dp/0785354816/ref=sr_1_3/104-0767909-8655137?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1182375126&sr=1-3
-Sign up for cooking classes; you can find them in either the yellow pages or sometimes colleges do a "Continuing Education" and cooking classes are among the list of choices.
-If the husband doesn't like your cooking, have him help you! He'll have less to grumble about. ;) (Make a date out of it. Find a recipe you both would like to try, go to the store to buy the ingredients together, then go home to make it).
-I peruse yahoo's food page every so often to find new ideas. Or sometimes if I have an idea of a recipe that I'd like to try, I'll do a search online and pick the best one.
One of these days your husband will love the things you prepare. The fact that you're willing to try harder proves that you will one day be a great cook. Good luck! :)

Keep trying, my ex husband said i couldn't cook then his mother had to "teach" me how embarrassing, anyway, try this, get cubed steak from the grocery store, in a large bowl mix Italian bread crumbs Parmesan cheese, seasoning salt, and a bit of flour, mix it up taste it to see if it has enough flavor, in another bowl mix Worcestershire sauce (incorrect spelling i believe) two eggs a Little beer and water. then dip the cubed steak in the wet then in the dry, have oil heated up in a large pan, test it by dropping a tiny pit of dry ingredients if it sizzles its ready anyway then place the steak in the oil making sure it doesn't get too hot, then cook for a few minutes until good and browned then flip and cook until good and browned. When you've cooked them all, take some of the drippings from the pan and pour out the rest, not in the sink, put back on burner, with flour and milk and bring to a boil stirring constantly, until thick add milk or flour till good consistency they when you cook your instant potatoes you have an awesome gravy to go with. Add salt to gravy if needed. good luck

OKAY....
Here's what you do...
Go to Walmart and buy some cans of "Great Value" (aka generic) ravioli (NOT Chef Boyardee) and some fresh parsley.
When he gets home, nuke the ravioli, pour it on a plate, and add a fresh parsley sprig.
See if he likes that better!

If your husband says that you're a bad cook, tell him to cook you something himself. He's in no position to tell you that you're bad at cooking if he probably can't do it himself. He should at least be appreciating your efforts to please him whether or not he brings home the paycheck. If at all he should help you out in the kitchen. So I say pick out a good cookbook and ask him to help you out too.
