I really don't think that anyone likes to see someone with poor table manners. You don't have to stick out your little finger or anything like that; but, why would you want to eat sloppily??
Have enough self-esteem to care about what you think more than what a boy thinks of your eating habits. Apparently you are aware of how it looks or you wouldn't ask the question; so, listen to your inner voice and do the things that allow you to respect yourself.
