im mixed with n.american and african american so im not that dark im just golden brown and i was wondering if i sat out in the sun can i get darker and get a tan...i heard that black people dont tan..but i would like to get darker over the summer

I had a friend who also was brown even thought her mom was white her dad was dark and she would lay in the sun and get tans alllll the time she loved it the darker the better..i think she was afraid that i would get darker than her...not lol

All people of color can get darker. Basic logic. Melanin darkens with sun exposure. If your skin isn't literally black, you can get darker. Also, only some white people can tan. The palest if them burn or get freckles.

yes u can deff tann but not as fast as someone with white skin.... People with darker skin have more melon which protects you from tanning.. When your skin tanns it basically protects you from the harmful rays of the sun.. when you get skin cancer or u burn thats when u know youve been out in the sun for too long that even your skin melon couldn't protect you.. it will take a while but too long in the sun will surely make a dark difference for ppl with light black skin..

black people do tan - being out in the sun causes everyones skin to darken - you will tan

obviously you would get a tan .... it doesnt matter what color you are the sun changes the pigment in your skin .black ppl do tan less and slower but you so have the same amount of risk of getting skin cancer as a white person

My sister was a golden brown and she went simming twice and now she's black. i don't know where you've been all your life, but of course you can tan! make sure to wear sunblock

If you have skin, and all the black people i know do, you will tan... you may even burn, it just won't be noticeable to everyone!

Yes, you can tan. I have a Black friend who actually goes to the tanning bed, so I don't see why you cant!
