is it a muscle twitch or what? and whats the best way to get rid of them

Hiccups happen when your diaphram squeezes, and it changes your intact pattern of air, and your body has hiccups to try to even out a pattern again. the best thing to do would be to hold your breath for a bit, or just to wait it out

yor diaphragm goes into spasms. Here is a neat way to get rid of them quick. Fill a drinking glass 3/4 full, bend forward at the waist and "sip" the water from the opposite side of the glass ( the side farthest from your mouth) sip for at least 20 seconds. When you straighten up, hiccups are gone. Don't believe me? try it!!

when you hiccup your diaphragm muscle twitches. for me I just ignore it don't say anything and it's gone. but my family says drink a lot of water. I get my hiccup when I laugh really hard.

eat 3 teaspoons of sugar .dry. my father told me this.. and then i read that in readers digest forty years later that 3 teaspoons of dry sugar eaten will cure hiccups.its something to do with an air bubble trapped in the lungs i believe.i don't really know.
