maybe he was having a bad day, I wouldn't quit yet, stick it out for a little bit more, and if he does insult you again, just talk to him, CALMLY and tell him you don't appreciate that, and he still insults you then i would put in a complaint with his superiors, and if that doesn't work then i would consider another job if it bugs you enough, and if you think you can stay there and not let it bug you then try and work through it, however if you want another job don't quit till you know you have another job lined up

Ummmm....NO. Are you kidding? You can't just pack up and leave when things get rough. You should schedule a meeting and ask him/her if that is really how they feel. If so, ask what you can do to improve your performance. If no, than you have cleared the air and there are no more worries. Haven't you ever had a bad day and just needed to vent? Im a receptionist, I catch **** all the time from people because I am the first person they see.

Do you have another job to go to?
What happened? Perhaps he shouldn't make comments like these- there are other ways to tell you if you have done something improperly.
Unless you have a big paying job somewhere else, I would say, stick it out. Are you going to quit every time someone insults you?
And, if this keeps up, there are ways and people to talk to about harassment. Take the high road.

Depends. Is it a good job? How long have you worked there? Were you doing something wrong? Is this the first time he's been mean?
Sometimes they'll treat you like that because they want you gone. Sometimes it'll get worse. Or maybe their under stress. In any rate you don't want to try to get back at him because he could ruin your future jobs.

If he is the type that holds ars e kicking parties, the jokes on him. If you are earning good money just smile - you'll have the last laugh. He's probably sad with no man-management skills. Don't take it to heart.

No. This is called humor. Not all humor involves kittens and sunshine. If that's the worst thing people say to you at work, then you must have a pretty nice job.
Is suffering this terrible indignity (sarcasm) really worth leaving your job and paycheck for?

That is insulting. Ask him to explain exactly what he means by that. Ask what you are doing or not doing that displeases him.
He sounds like a jerk, but maybe he will wise up and actually give you constructive information.

He's out of order speaking to you like that. If you don't want to take steps against him within whatever company you work for, at least wait until you have another job before quitting your current one.
