And lo and behold they don't allow emails.

I got called a "goon" and a "creep" the other day for one of my questions about the Bible god.

Another guy told me I wasn't worth the bother, to answer my question (yet he bothered to email).

I had no idea the hate I could generate by asking questions about the Bible and the god therein. From people who don't allow email. Church people.

welcome to the world of religious intolerance...the more 'faithful' a person is, the more intolerant...it is a direct correlation. religion by its very nature pits 'us' against 'them' and of course when you do this, intolerance is the outcome...but don't worry about it...just have fun aggravating them...after all, it is VERY easy!...lol...

I understand where your coming from , I used to go to a certain church , a few Sundays as the service was concluding I over heard four upstanding Church elders criticizing others ,actual gossip during a service it really made me sad to hear good so called Christians doing this . I now go to an occasional service at different churches as I don't want to stay at one long enough to know which good Christan is putting someone down because of clothing ,lack of proper amount of offering I have heard the same gossip at a few other churches but haven't a clue as to what standings the person has at the church . Hate does exist at Church even if only in the hearts of a few .

Maybe they didn't like the way you worded your questions and felt personal insulted. What question did you ask that you received hate mail from? Where you being sincere or not? If you where bring sincere it is too bad they didn't do the Christian thing and be polite about it. Some Christians are only Christians on Sunday. If you where NOT being sincere, then why are you upset?

I personally respect others beliefs and think you are allowed to ask questions about religion. I'm a Christian and I ask questions all the time…

I'm not going to be popular for saying this but I think it's because Christians believe that their god is the only god and anyone who doesn't believe in him is automatically going to hell no matter how good their life has been!

I've also found that Christians in general don't like people questioning things that are said in the bible. Theyre supposed to be accepted as the truth without question, it's not our place to question.

I'm pagan I dont so much get hate emails (though I may well do now!) but I do get a lot of hateful comments

It bothers them when people ask questions doubting their god. What I mean is that when people are questioning anothers religion they feel strongly about it kind of upsets them that you are doubting and not wanting to believe their religion. Its a kind of personal thing for them, or from some of the people I know that go onto religion chats on yahoo and see some of the stuff that is being said on there.

Maybe you should turn of your email?

I allow emails. We are all intitled to our opinions its freedom of speech. Don't let it bother you that they don't accept emails. Just block the user and you don't have to worrry about being bothered with them again. We are all intitled to ask our questions and I am ashamed that fellow christians would pass judgement on another person. That is not what God wants us to do. I do apologize for the "church people" who sent you nasty grams even though I do not know them.

I stopped allowing emails b/c I'd get an atheist harrassing me about my beliefs. But if you have a sincere question than I'm ready to give a sincere answer. Let's be grown up about it. Ask and you shall receive.

I know what you mean. I asked a question, It was nice, didn't put anyone down, I was curious. I couldn't believe it! I was yelled at, called a fascist, a tyrant, belittled and I did nothing to deserve this. This was from "good christian folk" Which I'm begining to think is an oxymoron. I know there are good and bad, but sometimes the bad overpowers the good with their smell it's becomes hard to see the good ones.

Not necessarily your question....but some people on both sides are very insulting and disrespectful.....so some people find the need to lash out.

I don't allow e-mails because after I've given my 2 cents worth I'm finished....I don't want to dialog.

When they do, politely explain to them why they are wrong, and also point out to them that their god must be very proud of them for insulting and attacking you. After you force them to swallow their own bullshit, they will either explode in rage and never email you again, or enter into a conversation with you which just might teach them something.

Either way, you win. Just don't stoop to their level.

I allow emails, but I don't send hateful ones. If I don't like questions, I (usually) pass them by; when I do answer questions I don't like I don't call people names. We all have a right to our own opinions. =)
