You don't.

God is just a superstition. There is no god to encounter.

Before we can begin to encounter God, we must first accept our spirituality. We are spiritual and physical beings, if this eludes you no religion or quest for understanding God will make sense. If you have acknowledged this, the quest for God becomes a little closer.

If we are spiritual beings then that spirit is not something that we could have created. It has a source and that source is the creator, God. Our spirit longs for the creator which calls it back to itself. Our spirit becomes tainted by this world and our selfishness. These things put barriers between God and us. God redeemed our spirit though his Son, Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity. By placing our sins and transgression upon the cross, Jesus' spirit intercedes for us and allows us to encounter the true God.

We have God encounters all the time, but we do not recognize them. It takes an act of faith in order to truly experience God or to recognize these experiences as God. Many who seek God have only second hand knowledge of God, what someone else has told them about God. The search for God is a search for first hand knowledge of God. The difference between knowing someone and knowing ABOUT someone, the latter is secondhand.

Asking God to reveal himself to you through His Son Jesus Christ will take an understanding of why Jesus' death on the cross applies to you. You must make this personal, in order to have a personal relationship with God. You must acknowledge that you are a spiritual being and that you want your spirit to be redeemed by Jesus and you want to know Him. This is only the beginning of a journey of a lifetime.

Know that God loves you and will always 'call', not force his children to Himself no matter how much they reject Him.

It's simple. You must seek him out. You also must be able to recognize when you do encounter Him. More than likely you aren't going to hear a big voice from the sky talk to you. He communicates through feelings in your mind and heart. My advice to you is to pray to God and ask Him to lead you to Him. That's what I did.
God loves you and wishes to bless you. I testify that He will make himself known unto you if you seek him earnestly. I'd like to invite you to visit www.mormon.org. It has some information you may find useful. I wish you luck on your search.

By becoming aware of The Spirit of truth within me. She knows everything I need to know about which scriptures she inspired and what they mean and how to apply them correctly in my life. She also teaches me how to tell the difference between Her voice and the voice of the unholy spirit. the bible and christians are mislead and deceived by the unholy spirit because they do not know Her voice.
