I know she can see herself. When I got my other cat, she used to attack herself in the mirror. So why now do they not care if they look in a mirror?

Her reflection doesn't smell like a cat & there are probably lots of more interesting things in her environment. Most cats I've lived with have had no interest whatsoever in mirrors, although a few have shown some interest & one in particular was hilarious-- he would bob his head up, down & sideways @ that big yellow cat in the mirror. I've even seen a couple try to go *behind* the mirror to investigate. Everykitty is different, just like the rest of us.

Only the greater apes recognize their reflections in the mirror. Most animals simply ignore them, only the truly stupid attack. I've seen birds peck at car mirrors and heard of a deer attacking it's own reflection in a plate glass window with disastrous results.

Cats recognize most other living things by scent and sound. Since a reflection in a mirror does not have a scent, nor makes a sound, they usually will not acknowledge it.

Cats can see themselves in the mirror but if you are holding them, they are more interested in that (your attention) than looking a themselves in the mirror.

Cats are individuals. Like every other animal and person. They each react differently to different stimuli, and they can react differently to the same stimuli in different situations.
