I oven bake mine just because its easier and less messy than standing over a skillet for 20 minutes flipping and turning meatballs. I place my raw meatballs on a broiler pan in the oven at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes and they come out done perfectly every time and I don't have to clean up grease splatters all over the counter and stove.

if you bake them, you'll probably get a healthier option but they may get to tough. Another low-cal option would be to cook them directly onto a small pot of tomato sauce, made with onion sliced thinly which you need to soften in a tablespoon of oil, and a can of peeled tomatoes. Let the sauce simmer for 5-10 mins, then add the meatballs, leave them for another 5 minutes, stir them gently, cover with a lid and turn the heat off.

Some people fry them first then bake them with all the sauces on top. The best thing is to get a pack of frozen ones then cook them in the microwave.

I love to bake them in a really hot oven b/c I don't have to stand there babysitting them in a skillet, watching grease pop all over my used-to-be-clean stove. I also find frying makes them into werid little shapes w/ sides on them. Bakign doesn't do that.

I don/t like to fry them bevcause they get out of shape sometimes and also some fall apart. In the oven they stay nicely shaped and it is less messy.
