My boss said that he didn't promote her because she doesn't wear stockings and the bare legs make her look like a sluuut that he doesn't want representing the company. Should I tell her?

Well, she can sue for both. A lot of companies do not hire or give women promotions b/c they are getting married. If a women is getting married, she might be considered on " the mommy track," which means she wants to start a family. A women that is a mother, often put priority to their family over their job. Companies do not like this.

As for the clothing comment; unless her company has a policy that says a women must wear stockings, they can't fire her for that. Her boss made a sexual comment about a worker, he can be sued for that. Her boss can be sued for big time sexual harrassment.

It's he said she said. Suing for not getting a promototion is stupid, she needs to grow up. Maybe the boss is wrong about not giving her the promotion, but not much she can do about it. I would just stay out of it, way too much drama. The boss may be stupid too, but she needs to let it go. It's a promotion, nothing to sue over. Even if she did sue, she still wouldn't get the promotion, just cause trouble for everyone.

Bigtime lawsuit - that woman owns the place and all it's profits it has ever made and ever will make. This is the type of sexism that shouldnt exist. A woman has every right to dress however she wants. The fact that HE found her to be "sexy and slutty" means that HE is sexually attracted to her, and only him! It is in his own perversions and sexual fantasies that he is pushing this onto the woman. He should be jailed for this violation of the woman's rights. He should never have been in charge of hiring people or being the one to do promotions.

If he told her that, she might have a case. If he told you that, it is just gossip. He can deny anything and it would be his word against yours.

Then you can go through life working at a place where your boss doesn't trust you with any information. He will also be waiting for you to make a mistake.

Find another job before you quit...

Not wearing stockings has nothing to do with whether or nmot she should get the promotion. She should be promoted on qualifications.
I hope she wins her lawsuit, jerks like that set us back fifty years.

Doesn't sound like she's the type that would want to listen. If she doesn't ask you, stay out of this one. Even if she does ask you, it's better to stay out. This could get really ugly and your presence probably won't help.
