What is Latino paradox? You are beginning to sound like the Latinos at LA Times. All they ever talk about is pro-Latino this and Latino that -- that nothing is wrong with the Latinos. True - nothing is wrong with the Latinos; it's their sheer numbers that is the main concern for most Americans. Perhaps the whole country can best be served if we had Polish, Russian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Germans, etc, etc, etc, etc, advocates. The fact is that many Latinos don't really want to become Americans; otherwise they would be trying to learn English and not waving their country's flags
during their demonstrations. Do they even owe allegiance to the US? Hell, no. My neighbors display the Mexican flag but never the US flag. Mariachi music blare loudly during their parties. I don't know of any other ethnic group that displays the same arrogance and disdain for the American culture.
And, by the way, every time I open the papers, Latino crimes are in it, killing each other or others. Did you know that Latinos are trying to drive African Americans in a certain neighborhood?

Doc C, your statement just proves my point. The illegal immigrants in this country are only a menace to certain states and not the whole country. And by the way, 45% of the people that are not paying taxes are not only illegal immigrants but some are American citizens who do not pay taxes on their businesses and just recently some of LA's celebs were caught with tax evasion, drug trafficing, and obstructing justice. All over the US millions of Americans have not paid taxes or insurance. They are also abusing the system claiming they can't work and are getting Social Services to pay their bills and groceries while they work and get paid under the table. American citizens are doing this and have been for 30 yrs or more.
I'm sorry CA LA is having such a problem but taking it to the Feds is not going to make it right. You have to talk to your state reps and local reps to make more strengent laws on how to get Social aid and stiffer laws on state arrest warrants for those who are illegal. Our state, NC, has heavy restrictions on being eligible for assistance such as you must have a valid SS# (our Dept of SS has the new program to verify SS#'s and if they do not have a valid or lost SS# they need to bring back a form from the SS office proving it is valid. Also you must have a Visa or Greencard current. Proof of residency and past work history for any monetary assistance (other than food stamps).
The local police departments have the right to ask for proof of residency here. If the pull you over for a major violation such as DUI or Reckless driving they have the right to ask for your papers and if the violation is serious enough they can call INS and request immidiate deportation.
I am not so worried about the Health Department issue here becuase many of their Hispanic clients actually pay cash at the time of service and are not receiving free health care because they do not qualify. They go there because they have translators there.
You really need to look at each of your states and see if it is really the illegal immigrants that are causing the trouble or is it that you do not have laws and restrictions in place to curb the problem and are using them as a "scapegoat" of sorts. Not too long ago, here in the southeast, many people blamed African Americans for wasting state money and abusing the system and crowding our jails. That ethnic group is still holding the higher percentage in our correctional facilities but the whites are second and other ethnicities are less than 16%. Why is it not such a major issue here rather than California and Texas and New York? There are several states like mine that have adopted these laws and have actually caught several American citizens for tax evasion for not paying employer taxes and not registering businesses because of it. Check out my states websites to see the averages on stats for the same things that are a problem in your state and see if you can get your state to model their reforms by ours. The Feds are not going to help us it will be up to individual states to make the changes. Good luck with your choices.

They're also prone to be overweight, alcoholics, and diabetics.

The suicide rate for female latinos is also higher than any other group and latinos drop out 50% more than any other group from school.

Latinos are also more prone to heart disease.

No bodys perfect.

It is really racist to make your digs towards angelos especially since I haven't heard anyone except latinos claim they are the "superior race" in recent times. If they're so "healthy" then why are they burdening the health care system to the point where hospitals and clinics are closing.

You need to do some more research.

The complaint(s) are REALLY based on the premise that people arrive here to seek out a better life, but refuse to give up their old ways -- which helped to drive them here. They watch TV in the language of their homeland instead of making every effort to assimilate and learn (the language and customs of their newly chosen home). Add to that, while in the old days, there was Ellis Island as an official port of entry, these people today, often times don't bother with Customs and Immigration. They just hike themselves over the border as undocumented and then take on that ugly poor American attitude of entitlement (healthcare, education, welfare, etc. all without paying taxes). And THOSE, without being subjective (emotional), are the facts.

Thats a load of crap. A majority of Americans pay insurance premiums for their healthcare. Your information is apparently biased in one direction.

What about TB and the other diseases that they are bringing over? You obviously did not take all of these things in consideration.

If they are not bothered by mental stress, they can "fix" Mexico's problems.

Save your foolish information.

T.D. J.

That link does not reflect the poster's references. He specified ANGLO-AMERICAN DOCTORS.

There is NO website that references anglo-american doctors ONLY.

And what is supposed to be the point of the whole post anyway?? Latinos supposed SUPERIORITY??

Other than the fact that the poster is racist and it clearly shows by his hatred of "whites".

Latinos does not be latinos if it weren't for the "Latin" now might they? they could be Aztecs or Dakotas, or Inca does not they? "i'm ill of uneducated ignorant hating inbread SOB redneck trailorparktrash hillbillies that evaluate a container a house, that have no longer something to do yet hate and bash something thats in comparison to them." --- a racist assertion if I ever heard one.

Why do you only care about the "anglo-americans" opinion?? This is a racist question. Your question is not a "scientific question" if you are only asking a certain race.
BTW, you inject YOUR emotions into your post, antagonizing and taunting whites.

Why don't you list your references?? I would love to see the website that only references "anglo-american doctors"...and what is the point of your post anyway?????

Absolutely amigo! Just by your Y!Name I can tell that you are totally unbiased in your opinion.. I mean your "research". Hey maybe a wise person like you can explainify to me why I pay more taxes and med insurance cost than an illegal family of 5? I have no kids to abuse the system with, work and pay taxes just to keep up with living expenses, where is my tax break for NOT utilizing as many resources as the above mentioned family? Why am I paying for their school, medicine, food, and other necessities? I am a legal immigrant, why am I paying for these people?
