sorry, I don't think anything is wrong with secular music, it does depend on the message of the sone, some are quite negative and some promote bad things....I just choose my music carefully and make sure it's fun and uplifting....

I believe that in Exodus there was a man whose name started with a Z. I'm sorry I don't have my Bible right now. If you find the story, he brought a midianite woman into the camp. A young man to a javelin and killed them both. The Bible gave both names of the man and woman. If you have a concordance you can look up their names. His names meaning was Music and hers was False. I has been said that he was trying to bring in false music which is why he was killed. If you have studied names in the Bible you know that every name is important. The teaching of satan being the choir leader in Heaven is important as well. When you listen to secular music you open your mind to allow satan and his demons in.

Well, there's nothing wrong with it in itself, to tell the truth. However, it's my belief that we Christians should watch what we listen to, and which movies we watch, simply because some of that stuff can take our eyes off of God.
I don't believe there's actually any Biblical support to this, though Philippians 4:8 comes close:
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Music, drugs, sex, a baseball bat, a computer, etc. are not bad nor wrong in and of themselves; it is how we apply or use these things can they or we be abused.
All things put here by God can be used for good or evil by our choice.
Even the Bible which we hold so dear as the Holy Word of God can be used to hurt or confuse others.

there is nothing wrong with secular music as long as the message of the song does not go against God.
such as some songs by relient k and hawk nelson. some songs don't have anything to do with Christ, but they don't have a negative message like slayer and 50 cent

Some music lifts you up, some pulls you down, while most just takes up your time.
Listen to the lyrics and decide if it's something you'd want to listen to with Jesus or your pastor at your side.

tell them the truth...Some music...nothing...some...everything. When they listen to the music they need to make a choice, does this bring them closer to God or farther away. Does it in force those things that are good, true, correct? or does it strive to bring them down, to do things they know to be wrong?
