OK, I vented before about the matching shoes...which I think is dumb!! My friend wants us to get matching shoes for a dress that you can't even see the shoes in. I think I am going to tell her these are the shoes I want her to buy for my wedding!!!

For those of you who need help- she wants us to buy matching black shoes. The point of doing it back is a joke...... and the idea is that she doesn't have any problem spending my money.... so let me see how she likes it if I spend some of her's...
Plus if your read my question you might understand.

Ok Bubbles dearie--all these fools who are chastising you about not being a good friend have NOT followed the drama with this chick. They don't realize that she's asking you to buy all this crap, but doesn't even have a reception or ceremony space booked yet. They don't realize that she's going off to Vegas to get married on 7/7/07, and then wanting the big "church" wedding in January--complete with reception--but that isn't even booked yet. I'll bet we could start a Yahoo Answers pool as to the chances of the January "wedding" even coming off, or her just bagging it all--but not until you and her other bridesmaids have bought the non-refundable dresses, shoes, etc., etc., etc.
Personally, I think you should have her get these shoes for your wedding...I think it's rich--poetic justice, so to speak. Of course, we all know she can't afford these shoes (which are the BOMB!), so I'm curious to see what happens next. Tune in tomorrow, right? LOL

Honestly, I think you should get the matching shoes the bride is asking for. It does sound as if she's being a little selfish (two weddings in six months? to the same guy?), but this is her wedding, and you giving her stress about a little thing like the shoes is just adding fuel to the fire.
Besides, when you sit down, everyone will see your feet...If you don't match everyone else, you're the one who's going to look bad, not the bride.

LMAO!!!! That's hilarious! I love it. Those are really cute by the way. Which ones, the gold or the black? I think it would serve her right. As long as you don't really make her follow through on it and just go along until she gets the point, I think it would be a lesson well learned. Besides, anyone who hasn't read what all this chick has put you through doesn't understand. I can't believe you've stayed this sane about it. I would have strangled her a long time ago. You're a really stand up friend for putting up with it for this long!
People! Lighten up! Its just a joke!

Honestly, I know what you are going through. I am getting married this Saturday, June 23rd, and I have 6 bridesmaids, 2 Jr Bridesmaids, and 2 flowergirls. I believe that the girls have paid for enough between the showers and their dresses. I just told them to wear whatever they want! I don't care if they wear hip boots, flip flops, bare feet, or friggen sneakers! All i know is that I want them to be there and be happy because they are all the best people I know. I just want them to be comfy!

Its a fun idea to entertain in your head but no you shouldn't. Doing something like that would be petty and spiteful and make you just as bad as her.
If you want to kick back at her a little tell her she can wear whatever shoes she wants but no peep toe pumps are allowed :)
If you want to be really mean make her wear socks with sandals or something.

I cant believe people are telling you to get the matching shoes!
People, the day of cookie cutter bridesmaids is over! Let your ladies shine in their own ways. Different dresses and shoes in the same color are a great way to accommodate all your ladies tastes a budgets. Is anyone REALLY going to notice that they all have on different pairs of black shoes? I dont think shoes that dont match is nearly the tragedy people make it out to be. We shouldn't put our bridesmaids through the h*ll of buying and wearing something they totally hate just because it's "our day". (wow... i just needed to say that)
Bubbles, defiantly a funny idea. I might mention it to her in a joking way, just to get your point across but I dont think I would actually tell her this in seriousness.

All I can say is.. it's just SHOES! If they aren't like $100, just get the darn shoes!
My bridesmaids all have their own style of dress... THEY decided to all get the same style shoes. I didn't make them. But since all the dresses are different, it might be something to tie them all together.
Just get the shoes, smile, and have fun!

the matching shoes situation isnt a big deal. its normal, and yes you do see them at times.. i have tons of candid photos where i can see my bridesmaid's feet (which donned peeptoe heels with a circle rhinestone up at the toe - dyed to apple red to match their gowns -which came to the floor). 1st if a gown is hemmed appropriately it should just hit the top of the foot 2nd when they were walking out of the house holding my train (there was ice and snow everywhere) you can see everyone's feet just get friggin shoes that match your bridesmaid dress and stop whining.. your being a bridesmaniac

Come on, you can do much better than this. If you want you can find far more expensive shoes. Think Coach, think Neiman Marcus, think woman think!
Really, let it go.
