Both.
Where can I hide from your spirit?
From your presence, where can I flee?
If I ascend to the heavens, you are there;
if I lie down in Sheol, you are there too.
If I fly with the wings of dawn
and alight beyond the sea,
Even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand hold me fast.
(Psalm 139:7-10)
Most Monotheists including Jews, Christians, and Muslims believe that God is omnipresent (everywhere).
God can be found:
+ In every human being who was made in His image
+ In every believer as part of the Body of Christ
+ In my heart, mind, and soul
+ In His creation, the universe, nature, animals, plants, and the back yard
+ In His revealed Word, the Holy Scriptures
+ In the Sacraments of the Church
+ Anywhere and everywhere
With love in Christ.

The universe that was created by god, as described in Genesis, consists of some dirt, surrounded by water, and a solid crystalline dome called the firmament... i.e., the sky. The sky is blue because when god created heaven and earth, he used the firmament to 'divide the waters'... so half of the original waters are up there, on the other side of the sky, along with heaven.
God lives in heaven... which is on the other side of the sky.
Really smart people know that this is mythological nonsense is not true... we call them 'atheists'. Other really smart people, called 'Christian apologists', try to reframe and reinterpret this mythological nonsense so that it conforms with what we know, today, about the actual configuration of the universe. We call these people con-men and criminals. Their gullible and sheep-like followers, we call 'believers'.

sorry, there's no such thing.
Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.
