And do they actually work with freeview?

They only work if you are so close to a powerful transmitter that the local houses don't have TV aerials on their roofs. How good is your analogue signal with your outside aerial? Now for the science bit! With analogue TV as the signal weakens the picture gradually gets snowier until no longer watchable. With digital there is a sudden point at which the signal is too weak to be usable. This is called the edge of the cliff effect. Even with a good outdoor aerial you may not get all Freeview channels because until the analogue is switched off, some freeview channel groups are being transmitted out- of -band and need a wideband aerial to receive them. Also digital is not on full power yet until analogue is switched off. Here is a link to help you.

Im using the 'Magic Wand TV Aerial' they take 2 AA batteries (i use rechargeable ones) and the signal boost gives great reception and wide coverage

I have 2 of these (living room and the loft) and they work perfectly they pick up all Freeview channels. So i can recommend this type of aerial

my kids got for their freeviews. plug in aerial and also into a mains socket. all channels and great picture.

Michael B is 100% , Wonder geezer , there is no such thing as digital antenna !!!!!!!!. If you think there is then please outline the parameters that seperate a digital from a anologue .

yes as long as it's a digitial one, best to get one with built in booster ( round £30 ).
