Why should we grant amnesty to illegal aliens? We all are immigrants – true, but our father, mothers, grandparents and so on, came here legally. We are not entitled to just move to any OTHER country and gain rights, so why should they? If we allow illegal’s amnesty, then why have so many other law abiding citizen aliens worked so hard – for nothing? Make them go home and apply for a visa like everyone else. If they have children born here, send them packing too! It’s not their fault they had folks that performed an illegal act to have them here. If the kids want to come back when their older – fine, they’re citizens of the US and rightfully so. But illegal aliens need to get here legally. I say, the more LEGAL Aliens, the better! Bring them on, but don’t make my neighbor who busted his *** for years to get his citizenship worth less because you chose to cheat your way in! Viva la Americana!

Personally – I agree with you all. We are NOT all immigrants. I had to put that or I would get blasted by the libs and not get an honest answer. They answer with crap like that instead of getting to the heart of the question.

nothing can be done with the 12 million already here (can't deport them all back). making the legal in some way is the best way to sort of solve this issue. and i am not talking about giving legal status to gang memebers, murderers, rapists. those are criminal, they don't deserve to be here. but let's say 11.5 million of the "illegals" are actaully good people but the can't remain "illegal" in this country forever. and for those who chose to come here the legal way, good for them. but you can't aviod the fact that. .. .(start at top again)

My family on both sides were here for hundreds of years .... why do you say I am an immigrant??
Is an Australians family that's been there since the 1700's also immigrants because they originated from England as well? How long do you have to be in one spot before you are stopped being an immigrant?
And no ! I don't want illegal aliens to have amnesty, in my opinion they should put all legal immigration from that country on indefinite hold until they catch up to the amount that has already gotten here . Let them fight it out with the ones that break the law. In fact maybe we should stop ALL legal immigration to this country from all places until we reach that 12 million spot... let all the educated people from other countries that want to come here to succeed and not siphon off of us put the pressure on those people.
Of course we are stuck with 20 million worthless people instead of good ones but we cant seem to win anyway .

It is not true that we are all immigrants. You are only an immigrant if you come here from somewhere else. If you were born here, you are not an immigrant, period, no matter how recently your family came here, even if your mom crossed the border illegally 5 minutes before she gave birth to you, you can't immigrate into the land of your birth!
If you say that I am an 'immigrant' because my great-grand parents (or parents) came here from the old country, you are judging me not on myself, but on my ancestry.
Do I have to pull out the 'R' word to make it clear what judging someone by thier ancestry is?
Asside for falling for that particular lie, though, you make some good points. If we need more immigration - and, for economic reasons, we very well may - we need it to be well-regulated, legal immigration.
