You might want to have them appraised if the are older quilts.. Handmade quilts of good quality are a lot more valuable than most people realize. If someone in your family made them, you might want to hang on to them. You can display them on the wal with a special "quilt hanger", lay them over the back of a couch, stack them in a nice basket, use them on beds, or send them to me!

If you are going to hang them, please look into the best way to do this. You can google your local Quilting Guild and I'm sure they would be glad to assist you. Many quilts' value can be quickly altered by a bad hanging job. Are they signed? Do you know who made them? How many do you have? Have you considered putting one on your bed and then changing it up the next week? You could display one on the back of your sofa.

If you like quilts, they can add much to your decor, even as an accent. Ones in excellent condition can be hung on walls, over windows, as throws for a couch, as well as traditionally covering a bed.
If they are in need of repair, the good portions could become pillow covers or cushions for chairs. You can either use similar colors or patterns in a room.

Try getting a quilt rack and displaying a couple on it.

Or if your not sentimentally attached to them donate them to a homeless shelter or good will or something.

I know alot of people into quilts, you could take them to an auction, and sell them, donate them to a church, give them away, sell them, take them to a quilt store, or give them as gifts, or if you had them, take them to Goodwill. Those people need nice things too.
Good Luck! :]

1] if really old but in good shape - get appraised by antique dealer - this will cost money
2] if family 'heirlooms', offer some to siblings, cousins, etc.
3] hang on quilt rack as art
4] if small, put backing on and make pillows
5] donate to chaity or church auction - you can deduct the price from your income tax [ save receipt and sale price proof ]

Do you want to dispay them? Or are you asking how to store/wash them? They sell racks to hang them on and you can handwash in cold water and line dry.
