my finches just had 4 eggs like 3 weeks ago but they still haven't hatched why is that? I read some books on Zebra Finches and they all say that they should hatch about 2 weeks after laid. The female finch lays on them for all 3 weeks but now she stop. Are The Eggs gonna make it?

There is a possibility that you may have two females The females lack the orange cheek markings see link below. Two females may act as pair if they don't have a male. One of the rules of thumb is that if you have a lot of eggs being layed you may have too girls. Also the other possibilty is you may have boy girl pair but for some reason the eggs are not fertile.

Is this the first clutch of eggs they have had? If so, it could just be because they are young and inexperienced. The eggs are most likely bad at this point and I would recommend that you remove them. (Especially if they aren't being sat on anymore) Clear out the nesting materials too and let your finches "rest". If they start to get "nesty" again, go ahead and give them fresh nesting material so they can try again. Keep track of when the first egg is laid, this way you'll know exactly how long it's been since they started each new clutch and that will tell you whether they are going to hatch. Also check to make sure how long their incubation period really is. You don't want to be giving up on them too soon!
Good luck!

If this is the first set of eggs, they may not even be fertile...hold the egg up to the lite...if it is clear, infertile...if you see something black inside its fertile...good luck...
