I have these dark areas around my mouth and people notice them. I don't know if it has something to do with smiling, but the spots are darker in the corners of my smile. Does it indicate something? Or is it nothing to worry about? And is there anyway to take care of these darker areas without a cover-up?

I have them too around my mouth. The doctor said it was hyperpigmentation. It can be taken care of using a chemical peel which is cosmetic. There is nothing medicinal that you can use.

I decided to just leave them as is.
