We are having a dinner after the wedding at a nice elegant resturant for about 30 guess. But I would like to decorate the table alittle more but what things could I do to make it a little more nice. My colors are lavendar and white. I already bought some lavendar colored candles with clear glass candle holder and I was going to be a white ribbon around the glass and light them and put then out the on the table. The table will be in a "U" shape. I will also have the favor out on the table in front of each chair. What else could I do? The cake will be off to the side on a round table, what could I do with that? Any ideas that are too expensive.

Take some vases - have your bridesmaids set their bouquets on the tables, and let your 'maids keep the vase when it's time to go. You can purchase some really cool vases pretty inexpensively - like a couple dollars. You can look anywhere from a craft store to Ikea.

Congratulations! And kudos on the lavender those are going to be my colors too! One idea that I got from weddingchannel.com is to float gerbera daisies in a bowl. i saw some at the grocery store for about $3 for 4. Depending on the size of your bowl, you should only need 3 per bowl. You could also use floating candles which can be found at Dollar Tree or Wal-Mart. The bottom of the bowl could also be decorated with flat marbles like people use in fish tanks. These come in a variety of colors and look great from from underwater. Those can be obtained at Dollar Tree or Wal-Mart. Lavender silk flower petals could be sprinkled on tables (such as the cake table) for effect. These are about $4 for 200 at orientaltrading.com This site has lots of wedding favor stuff and other wedding supplies really cheap. Use code WC86151 to get 15% off $50 or WC86145 to get free shipping on orders over $60. Also check out joann.com and you can use coupon code JUNH750 to get 50% off one item until Sat., Jun 23rd. Plus they're having a 25% off sale on wedding items. Whatever you decide I'm sure it will be beautiful and I wish you and your husband the a long happy life together!

I'm thinking that you probably aren't having many bridesmaids with this small of a dinner, so putting their bouquets out will not help. How about going to a dollar store and getting various sized candles in your colors and place them on glass tiles (also can be very inexpensive or the restaurant may have some you can borrow). The light reflects very nicely in the mirror and by staggering sizes you can really add some pow to the room. Ask the restaurant manager for ideas too, they have probably seen a lot of variations on decorations and may have items you can use.

Good Luck

I definitely would check out local thrift stores or garage sales for vases and candle holders. You could also wrapped small tea light candles in ribbon that is your wedding colors. I bought 7 large glass vases at goodwill for 6$. At walmart they are at least 5$ a piece. I plan on filling my about ¾ of the way with fake rose petals and putting a candle inside. Also you could fill them with water and out floating candle or tea light candles in them. This is really pretty with glass rocks at the bottom.

Stick with that honey and reuse your boquets for flowers. You don't want to put too much on the tables. It looks great at first but then when the food comes it is all going to end up on the floor. Make sure you havnt excluded basic accesories like salt, pepper, and sweetner. :)

If you want you can make chair sashes for the backs of the chairs to dress is up a little. Email me for DIY instructions.

You can also buy dried lavender in bulk very cheaply and sprinkle that on the table instead of the usual rose petals.

Because it is a restaurant you have to be careful, see what they allow. At my restaurant we allow pretty much anything that can be cleaned easily. I would maybe look at some flower petals to sprinkle around the table? You don't want to over do it though, sometimes less is best. Have a great wedding though, it will be wonderful no matter what you chose.

Scatter white rose petals and lavender flowers across the table, like confetti. It will look nice and smell fabulous!

Several small floral centerpieces would be lovely.
