I have recently discovered this answer forum. I can't believe how rude people are to others. Personally it scares me. I am a born-again Christian woman and I think I deserve respect and I try to respect others. Please think about it.

It is EVIDENT to me that people who are rude haven't been taught. Just my humble opinion.

Most people are not rude. It is difficult to communicate effectively in a few words when you don't get to see the person and read their body language.

So most people dispense with the formalities in favor of clear communication in this media.

Welcome, and feel free to express yourself succinctly and clearly if you like.

I am a born-again Christian woman and I think I deserve respect and I try to respect others.

Respect is deserved on occasion. But mostly it works more affectively if it's practiced by an individual.

In other words, reality will not show you respect as a Christian woman. Reality is what you are seeing. What is far more important is your respecting others.

You'd be surprised at how well we mirror what we are shown.

I can't think of a single person who commands my respect. IT's always given freely.

The problem is, Yahoo Answers is an open forum where CHILDREN can come in and leave any old answer they want.....and usually do...you will find that the rude ones are USUALLY the children... Oh there are a few rude adults as well... the thing about religions seems to be that those who try to PUSH their particular beliefs on others tend to get the most rude answers... It's OK to believe in whatever you want, but some people don't get that and tend to want to degrade someone for believing something other then what THEY believe... I have a right to MY religion, you have a right to YOURS and an Atheist has a right to HIS, but NONE of us have the right to FORCE our religions on someone else OR degrade and ridicule someone for their particular beliefs...and we should think INTELLIGENTLY and answer INTELLIGENTLY and not rudely----no one makes a better point AGAINST what they are trying to say when they say it RUDELY.

I agree BUT
you must consider what made someone rude in the first place
maybe they're just having a bad day or they were abused as a kid
who knows
that's why I try not to be mean back these days cause you never know what even the worst have been through
Hitler didn't just get born and decide he was going to kill all the jews
he had to go through tough experiences that made him that way
now tell me if you could last long without being a psychopath if you were in Hitler's shoes

Hi Rose Park.

You are right in some respect - there is alot of rudeness. I am part of that whole rudeness thing myself. I admit it - not because I am proud of it but because it is the truth.

You deserve respect, you are right. So do I. So does everyone who posts here.

I am a Wiccan. As long as you don't start telling non-Christians that we are going to hell, that we are wrong, or try to tell us how and what to believe, you will be respected by most of the non-Christians here.

If you choose to be someone who does tell non-Christians all of these things, expect to be told where to stick it, how to stick it, and when to stick it. I am sorry to be so blunt, but that is the way it is around these parts.

The people who post on Yahoo R&S section are passionate about what they believe or don't believe. Most of us - non-Christian and Christian are educated, have studied the Bible and other religious texts, and have deep convictions about what we believe.

You will notice that there are a few ON BOTH SIDES who cannot play nicely with others. If you are not one of those people, then you will not have alot of fun here.

It is important to remember, in my opinion, that the discission of religion and of spirituality is only benefited by passion. Please do be passionate about your faith - and allow the rest of us to be passionate about ours.

No one posting here is any closer to God or the Goddess or to any spiritual truth than any other. We are all here to learn and teach.

One thing tho - you started off with a really negative statement, IMO - and that is that it is "EVIDENT" to you "that people who are rude haven't been taught." To the contrary - many people here have been taught - they just choose not to believe what you do and choose to defend their own beliefs.

We are all works in progress - if we were not, we would be a sorry, sorry lot.

Thank you for your post - I appreciate it alot!

People are hiding behind the internet, really. Most would never be this rude to anyone in person.

I think it's wrong to disrespect other religions. I was raised Catholic, and eight years ago I converted to Wicca/Paganism. I don't badmouth Christianity, because I don't see anything wrong with it. It just wasn't right for me.

I totally agree. I even get hate mail from these people. I think that even if you aren't christian that you should still respect others. Agree? That means that you don't go and tell someone to f$%&* off or that they are going to hell. If your going to ask a question on here then you need to have some decentcy and be mature about it...grow up people!!

okay she asked a simple question and some of you attacked the hell out of her for no reason. For people who complain when Fundiest attack and report for no reason some of you really just came off like rude jackasses. Rose I agree with you, conversations and differences can be handled with civil discourse, even about Religion..But not often..and never on here. I'm a agnostic in case anyone is wondering.

I am a born again Christian, too. You can't feel that way on this site. It's how the site works. Some people are rude and that's how they express themselves. If they get too out of line, their accounts get deleted. Just ignore them and bless someone today with your questions and answers.

There are a lot of people who are rude (and down right annoying, some being here just to put others down), but if you stick around long enough you'll find the people who are actually here to engage in conversation and are actually interested in what other people are thinking!

You'll find them too. :) I promise. You just have to be patient... VERY patient...
