Support those that are bothering them with real facts.

As we've seen in this forum, religious dogma falls flat in the face of reasoned refutation. They daily show the shallowness of their worldview as they repeatedly foist their lame arguments and which are constantly batted down.

Only through such education can we change the tide of thought in this country away from ancient superstitions. When support for religious propganda drops and more people employ real critical thinking in their lives, you'll find that there are fewer people coming by to bother you with their nonsense.

Although, myself being a person who doesn't like pushy salesmen, I do understand the frustration you have. But, it also sounds like you have a dismissive and resistant attitude towards religion.

Even if you don't believe in God, do some research, because even a secular researcher would not call Biblical characters fictional. Most (if not all) Biblical characters (and religions) are at least based in the lives of real people who lived and breathed.

You should study the beliefs that drive so many people to pester and proselytize you. Consider that most of the world believes their is a creator or God, is there is a reason for that? Without a thorough study, are you willing to say that you are more intelligent and more knowledgable than all of those people? Have you actually studied what they believe well enough to reject what they are saying wholesale?

Since religious people believe what they are saying... they feel obligated out of love to tell you about what they have experienced, they will not go away. My suggestion is that you do your own research, so that next time some religious person approaches you... you can discuss the issue intelligently and respectfully.

If you don't have the time for a discussion... take the literature, thank them and continue on your way.

What religion are you? If you're an atheist or whatever religion you are, get hold of some leaflets and whenever someone comes, hand some over to them and may be preach if you have time. That should annoy them.

Ask the Salvation Army girl to stop talking to you.

Don't answer the door when the JWs or the Mormon come knocking.

Avoid the center of the city.

And in 100 years or less, God will let you live somewhere where they won't be any Christians.

Pastor Art

PS: I can't promise there won't be any Mormons or JWs, but there should not be any Christians or Salvation Army people in your new home.

I heard that if you just tell them you are Atheist, they will stop. But the bible thumpers on the curb, that yell at you are a different story and they lack humility, so saying anything to them will just egg them on even more.. You can't do anything about them. Just go about your business and try to ignore them, unless you feel like being confrontational,,, say something back to them.. I have.. True story, I'll make it short. Guy on a corner was yelling at everybody in their cars about why we were going to hell for this, that, and the other.. Unfortunately, for me, I don't have AC, and it was really hot day, so I couldn't roll up my window, (this was last summer) and I was just in one of those moods where I didn't feel like hearing hateful sh^t, I was hot and feeling aggravated, about the traffic also, I live in Pensacola, FL. and no one knows how to drive here. So I was at this stop light waiting for it to turn green. He had moved onto a subject about homosexuality and condemning them to hell. I'm not gay or anything. But, I don't have a problem with somebody that is. So, anyway.. I mocked his voice and said "your going to hell!" Then he said the same as thing I did but louder.. "Your going to hell!!" Well. I guess you had to be there. It was pretty funny, light turned green, and I went on my way.. Anyway,, I guess that probably wasn't a mature thing for me to do, but like you, I was tired of hearing all the judging.. Anyway, I am not saying to follow my example,,but have a little fun with them, if it is not causing you any lost time in your destination to where you are going.

If your out and see them, don't make eye contact. Usually people only come up to you when you make eye contact.

Jehovah's witnesses- ask them politely to not come to your house anymore. If they keep persisting, get mean with them and tell them FORCEFULLY to stay off of your property. If that doesn't work, call the cops.
Or just do what my Government teacher's old college roommate did- go downstairs with a bunch of pentagrams drawn on you in black and go to the door sneering and growling. XD

hi Kristy, sorry you're bored i could wish that interior the doctrine of any faith that tolerance is a key factor. case in point, christians have faith that one and all people are portion of their gods advent. That suggested, i could desire to think of that any christian does no longer be indignant that i do no longer have faith as they do. Now once I say some thing like "sensible layout is a exceedingly feebleminded concept", i could say that some christians could be indignant. this would be a hard question… i think of that how they arrive to be certain that i do no longer have faith makes all the adaptation interior the worldwide. - Worst case, I refer to them that i think of faith is illogical and that whomever follows it quite is gullible. right here, i'm at as quickly as calling them ignorant which might placed them on the protective. - gentle case, i'm going to have a bumper sticky label or t-blouse that publicizes "i do no longer have faith". this would agitate some people, yet no direct attack at them has been made. - suited case, if somebody asked me what faith I stick to, and that i kindly spoke back that i do no longer have faith in any god, they may well be greater receptive to me. that in the time of many cases peaks their interest for a touch debate action… :-D

O, I am sorry that you find Jehovah's Witnesses
annoying. Just say I am not interested and keep
going. Some people may not be interested one
day and then another time they may be. A change
of circumstances may take place. Hope this may
be helpful.

Have you ever tried actually listening to them and asking them some questions. You think the characters are fictional butwhy would they be putting their heart and soul into the belief of folklore. If u want to get away from them you better move because as long as the spirit of the Lord is within them they'll never stop trying to spread his Word. Didn you ever think that the "noise" and solicitation that has been annoying you could be giving some other troubled human being inner peace???

Talk to them.
It drives them crazy when you tell them you don't believe and challenge their beliefs. Especially the younger ones. They have to be polite and smile, but you can tell they think you are dangerous.
They stop calling after a while.
