I have been dating this guy for almost 3 years and we just seem to have grown apart. We don't argue or anything, we just find ourselves spending a lot less time together and calling each other less frequently. How would you end this relationship? Feel free to share a story.

I was in a very similar situation recently and I found that being honest was the way to go, i told my ex that I felt we were going different directions in our lives. Surprisingly he agreed 100% that we might not be as perfect as we thought we might have been and now we are still very good friends. In any case I believe honesty and communication are key in any successful relationship.

I would say that if the relationship isn't going anywhere then be real and say that. Tell him you will always have love for him but you're not in love anymore. I think the key to ending this relationship is pure honesty. That way you can still be friends. Good luck to you!

Be honest with him and tell him exactly what you wrote about growing apart. Let him know you aren't the same people you were 3 yrs ago. It will be tough but needs to be done. You don't want to string him along. Just give him the same respect that you would want.

I'd sit the person down and talk to them and let them know it appears the relationship has run its course, and it's been good but time for us both to move on. Let 'em know it's nothing personal (you don't hate them or they didn't do anything to cause it) but like most things, even relationships have endings...perhaps you two can remain friends, if you both desire it.

Be honest with him, tell him you feel like you drifted apart and there are no hard feelings, but you just don't feel the same way you once did. Good Luck.

Just be honest and upfront about how you feel. Your boyfriend is obviously feeling the same way if there is no communication. The quicker the better.
