You could use Clove Oil, but it tastes disgusting and your mouth feels like it's burning, however it does work.
I use Orajel (available over-the-counter from pharmacies). It uses Benzocaine, which is a local anaesthetic. It does have Clove Oil in it as well, but doesn't taste as bad as just the Oil does.
You really need to see a dentist to cure the tooth-ache as these are only temporary solutions.

Just remember that oil of clove is for temporary relief until you can get to a dentist. Don't let a toothache go untreated.

Oil of cloves can be purchased at local chemist or supermarket. Put a small amount on a clean hankie or ear bud and rub area that is painful

Yes oil of cloves is good. But slosh neat vodka round the tooth whilst crunching on an Anadin. Worked for me one Christmas day.

HELLO,
OIL OF CLOVES WILL RELIEVE THE PAIN, BUT THIS IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX. A DENTIST SHOULD ELIMINATE THE CAUSE OF THE PAIN.
FOR THE CLOVE OIL TAKE A COTTON SWAB AND PLACE A SMALL AMOUNT N THE GUM VEXT TO THE PAINFUL TOOTH, AND KEEP IT THERE A FEW SECONDS.
