Something I can eat. A charity donation or something fun like a photo booth or a caricature artist can also be a big hit. As for the baby picture frames, bottle stoppers, and that kind of stuff. It's just a dust bunny collector and would end up in the trash.

Hershey Kisses with tags that say "kisses from the bride and groom!" or the personalized M&Ms is a nice favor just a little cheesy for me to do it as my own.

Honestly - we did wedding favors and more then half of them were A) not touched or B) Left behind at the end of the night

And I did hershey kisses in a silver tin with a pretty sticker on top. It's HONESTLY not worth the cost. Take it from someone who's been there, done that. If I could do it again I wouldn't do favors at all. What I DID do that got some good responses is I made comment cards with a little poem asking people to leave behind marriage tips, fond memories, etc. They were super cute. I then bought some golf pencils, stuck them upside down in a styrofoam tray and spray painted them gold. I found those got better responses more than the favors themselves.

How many people are you having? If you take all the peopel at the reception and multiple that by like 50 cents or so, that will be the cost, kinda sucks, I know. Here is what we did. We went to a retail chain and hit up the dollar eisle. Each week there is something new in it. We found these really cute pastel pictures frames for a buck a piece so we cleared them out, about 50 total. Then we went and developed a bunch of pictures of us and put them in the frames. They are about 15 cents a piece. So we are looking at maybe a $1.20. Now we put 1 or 2 of these on each table at the reception and let the guests take a picture home. This way its is something to remember the night, remember the couple and melt in the hands.

I was going to do a mini photo album for guests for my wedding (which i didnt have) - because i received coaster picture frames once for a favor and thought it was great.

if you have a theme, it also helps. I once went to a wedding that was held at Hershey Park and the guests all got a basket of chocolate goodies.

I've also been to a wedding at an amusement park and got free admission and a picture of the couple as there wedding favor...

Golf course weddings give inscribed golf balls, etc

depends how much you're willing to spend.

I gave away tree seedlings from www.greenworldproject.net. My guests really liked the idea, and many told us that they planted the tree when they got home. Our wedding was at an old mansion in a park, so I felt that it was neat, and very earth conscious. The only downside was that we bought one for every guest, and weren't thinking that it was a "couple gift," so we planted 30 trees when we got back from the honeymoon! But it was symbolic of new beginnings, and our life together.

People will always like chocolate though!
Whatever you decide remember that in the long run the favors don't really matter.

that is exactly what I am using. we are going to buy those white dot stickers in the office supply section and write in fine marker our name and wedding date or some cute phrase and stick it to the bottom of the kisses and then put them in a tulle bag. i think it is a yummy inexpensive way to give favors. who doesn't like chocolate? I wanted to get these cute little wedding cake replicas from Godiva but they are about $36 for 4.... so hershey's it is!

Every wedding I have attended has given out chocolates. At once, they were made in the shape of hearts by the mother of the bride, packaged in clear saran wrap, and tied with a ribbon. At another, they were boxed and the box had the bride and groom's name on it and the date of the wedding.

My only complaint is that since they are chocolate they don't last too long.

Hershey's kisses are a good bet, as favors go. Edible favors are usually the most popular with guests, and nearly everyone likes chocolate.

I say go for it.

Me? I had Jordan almonds wrapped in tulle squares, but that's just because I love Jordan almonds. Lots of people hate them, so I got a bunch of leftovers to eat! Mwahaha!

We gave wine stoppers last year and to the little ones a coloring/activity book and crayons to keep them busy and quiet. M&Ms can now be made in your colors. Don't get too fancy, most stuff is thrown away, even those little frames.

Maybe LoriBeth and I were at the same wedding. We got pine seedlings at a family wedding last year. That was a nice idea.

I am trying to figure out the same thing....

I hate things that I just throw in the junk drawer.

I was thinking about a tealight candle in a mesh bag...

Or I like the idea of sending a picture in a frame with the thank you card.
