Hi guys,

my current graphics card is messing up, so can you recommend any decent replacements which are cheap but will allow most games to run?

Thanks for that!

GeForce 8600GT, you can buy one for as little as $107. It has about half the speed of the expensive 8800 cards.

First of all it depends on the type of support your motherboard has (eg. AGP, PCI Express, or just PCI). AGP and PCI E will give you much better performance over PCI.

Furthermore you need to be aware of the minimum system requirements (Operating system, RAM, CPU) for the graphics card you choose. It is important that your system meets those minimum requirements. You also want to be concerned with viruses and spyware on your pc. If you have a sick computer a new graphics card wont resolve your game playing issues.

I personally favor nVidia over ATI...mainly because they are easier to setup and require a lot less maintnence. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Depends on your slot type that you have available, go from there. PCI, AGP, PCI-Express. Go woth either NVIDIA or ATI.
If it's PCI, GeForce 5200 (or higher).
