This sounds more like a "comment" than advise or an opinion. What matters the most is that we should know the context in which she said those words?
Here I am reading a sentence which could mean anything for example, she might have said that "Its a false perception that the reason extremist..." Or she might have said that "In my opinion the reason extremist..." It could be anything!
Its my humble request to all who read my answer that please make sure of the context of a statement before you believe its true. We are facing a lot of confusion all around the world because of people making extreme decision and taking severe action based on mere hearsay.

It's a well-known fact that religions treat their doctrines as sacred and untouchable. Why else would religion get such a pass from actual criticism?
Why else would people from some of today's Sir Salman threads say that Sir Salman "deserves the worst kind of death" simply for criticizing a religion in a fiction book?
Why else would Christians get their knickers in a twist over "The DaVinci Code" (though Christians are less violent about it than Muslims)?

You're right. That respondent quite likely isn't an expert on Muslim extremists. The individual who responded quite likely isn't a psychologist, either.
Good for you for recognizing she has assumed something that might be incorrect or she's stating an opinion as if it is an informed fact. But it is certainly her perogative to do so.
Quite a few young folk on Yahoo asking complete strangers what shade to streak their hair, what's the best pick up line for girls, what's the best brand of ipod to get, what do I do about my annoying step parent, help me solve this algebra equation, do adam and eve have belly buttons, etcetera, etcetera...
Do you expect experts to be responding on the subject matter contained in Yahoo questions? I don't. Many people, including experts, are simply choosing other activities to occupy their time with. So, you're welcome to read the info for whatever it's worth to you. You may identify strongly with a few people, you may find many others seem like attention-seeking nutbars, you may discover all kinds of impressionable youth trying to learn about new things and experienced grown ups wanting a harmless outlet for their time.
P.S. The majority of us are not experts on most subjects. And I guarantee you, not one of us is perfect and all-knowing. Hope you enjoy your time spent on here for the most part. Very Best.

So I would be justified saying that same thing if I had a degree in Psychology?
Well then, good thing I do, hm? And one in Computer Science as well... I dual majored in Computer Science and Psychology.
I don't happen to agree with her in all cases though, though I do think some muslims act out of that motivation.

If you want professional psychological analysis, then you probably ought to go see a psychologist. What you're going to find on a free Internet forum like this is laymen with subjective opinions of varying merit. That's the whole point of this thing.
Not that I necessarily disagree with the statement that you quoted in your question...

better a degree in sociology. well, that;s her opinion, even if she do have a degree in that field does not mean she is factual in her statement. That's the danger of making one, it can make one appear intellectual or a fool. oops! am i judgemental, not even a psychologist, lol, just my view. freedom of expression, dear.
in the hadith, there said "if someone makes a wrongful action towards another in one;s presence, help them both. First help the oppressed, the other is to stop or clarify to the oppressor toward the just way."
