If you've had a sore throat for 5 days that's bad enough to take narcotics, then you really need to see a doctor. It could be Strep.
Left untreated Strep can cause ulcers in your throat that take forever to heal, and beyond that can even cause complications with your heart if the virus spreads.

try a 1/3 cup of lemon juice pure lemon juice should help, helped me.
