should I call the town in Italy where my grandpa was born to get Birth Certificate or get an agency to do it?

I want to get dual citizenship, my grandparents are both from Italy and by Italian law I am intitled to this. Has anyone else done this?

Under Italian law, records of births, marriages, and deaths are maintained by the Registrar of Vital Statistics (Ufficio dello Stato civile) in the City Office (Comune or Municipio) of the place where the event occurred. There is no central, regional, or provincial office established which keeps such records. When applying for one of these certificates, the applicant must supply all relevant information. The office of the registrar cannot undertake extensive research of its files to locate a record which is not properly identified, and will not translate requests in a foreign language. A request written in the Italian usually produces faster results.

It'll probably cost a lot to get an agency to do it. why not go yourself? It would be a fun trip and you could do some sight seeing on the way! HAHA! That's what I would do! But sorry, I've never had to get dual citizenship so I'm not sure.

I contacted the office in Norway myself. I just wanted information, but they sent me more than I asked for. you don't need an agency.
