Whats the big NONO?? Anyways even if you dont like her Its his life and he obviously loves her. Stay out of it and try to get along with her for his sake because all it will do is create tension between ya'll.

Why don't you like his gf? Did she do something wrong or is she just not the "princess" you always thought your son would marry? What did you do wrong (the no no)? Anyway, if they've been together for a long time and are old enough to get married...the best thing you can do is give your blessing, become involved in the wedding planning, try to get closer to his bride to be (maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised and learn that you have things in common) and be there for your son when he needs you. Good luck.

I imagine your son knows you don't like his girl friend, but at this point if he is ready to marry her then he is also ready to chose her over you. Ouch. So basically if you want to keep him in your life you need to figure out away to like his future wife and at least be nice to her. She probably knows you don't like her either and can use that to draw your son away from you too. You don't have to agree with everything she says or does or thinks, but listening and being there and accepting her into your family is important. Think of the movie Monster in Law. Do you want to hinder your sons happiness or be a part of it? Even if you go to your grave not liking her, you should at least be cordial to her and with her always, not just when your son is around.
Good luck with this. My best friends family went through this when her brother got married, they finally had to change their persepective and include her as part of the family. They still don't necessarily "like" her but they love her, because she married their brother.

I know the feeling well. But from experience, I can tell you this: you're not marrying her, he is. It's his choice, right or wrong. It's rare that we parents like the choices that our kids make in spouses. But on the other hand, with time, you will be either happily surprised when they turn out ok, or you get to say those famous parent words "I TOLD YOU SO"!!
Good luck

There nothing you can do, he is an adult and has his own mind. Apologize for whatever you did and give her the benefit of the dought. Remember if you go against his girlfriend you will be going against your sone and the last thing you need is for your son to put up a wall between both of you.

Just b/c you don't like her doesn't mean she is not good for your son. Your son propose to her b/c he loves her and if he loves her your going to have to be happy for him.
You have to ask yourself what is it that bothers you about her? Also what did you do that was a big NO NO? Maybe you don't like her b/c your not the only women in your sons life anymore.
Trust me don't do anything that will hurt him.
