When you install iTunes for the first time on a computer it searches the computer for any "audio" files that it can play (mp3, wma, m4p). By default, your windows computer comes with some sample music, which iTunes automagically puts in your library. There should only be a few sample songs.

To not have them go on your iPod. Click off the check box next to the song in your iTunes library. When you sync the ipod the songs will be ignored or removed from your ipod if they are already there.

Another trick is to right click on the song in the library and look at the location of where the song is located. By default iTunes music is located in my music/iTunes. Knowing how to find the songs is useful when iTunes loses track of them, and it will.

when installing the programs u probably click to have itunes scan ur computer for all media files and add them to itunes. it is the default setting. so it picked up all of the preloaded songs that windows has on it when u install the os.

Just delete all of them. but if it asks u to delete the file, or just the entry in Itunes, i would choose just the entry, because some of the file might be used by the computer.

When you installed it asked you if you wanted to search through your music and you probably told it too and now you have these songs that are stored somewhere on your computer. Just choose the song and press delete to get rid of them.
