I believe that God and his ancestors could have evolved on his home planet; Planet H (Heaven). Planet H could have formed 13 billion years ago, shortly after the Universe was formed. That would make "God" and his parents 9 billion years more advanced than us; scientifically, technologically, and of course, evolutionarily. --

What would you add to this scenario?

Dear "truth" - Actually, I am a "red-letter Christian".... but I have never found a church that was of that doctrine.

Dear "dance" - Does Ron Hubbard believe in the wisdom and instructions of Jesus?

Dear "nation" - Yes I am sure I didn't steal it from the last 3 chapters of X files. I copyrighted it in my book several years ago "God's Ancestors".

Dear "unpope" - you have a good point, my current revision indicates Planet H could be only 8 billion years more advanced than us.

Dear "unpope" - Do you not see a need or reason for believing things; do you think of us as simply sophisticated robots?

Why would you be in trouble for your beliefs?

Are you sure you didn't steal this from a Vonnegut novel? I'd add that it all fits with the last 3 seasons of "The X-files", which is totally plausible (exc. for the verses of the Koran & Torah & NT on the outside of the spaceship...that was just wiggy). By their logic, the son of Scully & Mulder (a half-alien) would be the next "Son of God"! Sounds like a great story.

Time, as we know it, is a human measurement. Depending on your definition of "god," he/she/it could be billions of years old. I am of the Judeo-Christian world view, and believe that God never had a beginning and will never have an end. In other words, He is infinite and eternal. Do I completely understand that? Absolutely not! However, the Bible, which is my reference point for what I believe, indicates that is how it is and I choose to accept that.

My one challenge for you is to consider why you believe what you believe.

You forget, it took a very long time after big bang before things settled down and planets started forming. You should look into the history of the universe sometime.

There is no record of God having ancestors. And after God created his only begotten angelic son Michael the Archangel he created heaven.

You were made from the earth and for the earth...you graduate to no where...you die and go back to the dust....you will be grateful when you awake and you will be on a paradise earth...and have a chance to live forever.

And you think Christianity is rediculous. No you aren't in trouble, you are misguided. :P But it was funny at least.

Unclewayne** Well, Christianity is full of bogus misguided BS in 99.9% of the popular sects. Yours makes as much sense as evolutionism, creationism and whatever other theories are out there about who and what we are and how God exists. But I think you're going too far back in time trying to understand God's existance when we can't even agree on our own. But you're still not in trouble for the thought.

I would say that you are only in trouble if all the other religions that claim to be the "only way" are correct.

Actually, your "planet H" sounds suspiciously like Kolob, of the Mormons, on which god lives in that particular faith.

How old were God's parents when he was born? Did they let him play with the earth when he was a baby? Maybe he made the dinosaurs when he was a little boy. What little boy wouldnt like to populate the earth with dinosaurs?

No your not wrong for believing. Religion is full of loopholes. The bible is an imperfect book created by man. It is a tool to strike fear into others.

You can believe whatever you want to believe in, it may not be the popular belief but if its what you truly believe in then don't worry what others think. Just remember that all religious theories started with someone having to convince others to convert.

You are so wrong. Obviously you have never read the Holy Bible for yourself. Better get a plain English edition and start reading the truth for yourself.
