I'm getting married soon and I was wondering about the ring exchange. I have a beautiful engagement ring and a very simple and thin wedding ring to go with it. By itself the wedding ring looks very odd. Do I use the wedding ring by itself as is tradition or do I use the engagement ring with it.

Once the ceremony is over, you can wear your rings in any combination you choose; most common would be to have the wedding band on your finger first, then put the engagement ring on top.

As for the day of the ceremony, it is customary to wear your engagement ring on your RIGHT hand until after the ceremony is over, then quietly switch the engagement ring to the left hand so it rests on top of the band.

It is up to you. As long as you don't permanately affix the rings together, you can wear the wedding band by itself or with the engagement ring. Usually the engagement ring isn't worn alone after the wedding, but the wedding ring could be. Most people wear both of them together, or the wedding band alone. I have done both, when I had a baby and was changing her diaper the big diamond would scratch her leg, so I only wore the wedding band for a while, now I wear them together again, but it is nice to have the option to change it.

You wear both on the same finger, likewise first wedding ring and then engagement ring. Also, you can wear the engagement ring on right hand and used the wedding band for the exchange. It was an easy switch after the ceremony to switch engagement ring back to left hand.

For the ceremony, you keep the hand bare which will be receiving the wedding band. You can have the engagement ring on the other hand. The wedding band will be put on. After the ceremony, you can then put the engagement ring on overtop of the wedding band.

I wear my rings together on the left ring finger. Just because you got married does not mean you can't still enjoy and show your engagement ring. It goes with the wedding band as a set.

For the wedding I wore my engagement ring on my right hand, so that my left was free for the wedding band. During the reception and for pictures I put my engagement ring on as well.

Remember, your wedding band goes on first, with the engagement ring on top.

I have seen it done a couple ways. You can leave the engagement ring on and have your man slip just the wedding ring on during the ceremony, or you can have hte engagement ring and wedding ring together so that he slips both on during the ceremony. My wedding band is a tracer so it looks funny just by itself, and we didn't get the engagement ring and the wedding band sautered together before hand so i wore my engagement ring and had my husband just put the wedding band on.

I LOVE my engagement ring and wouldn't think of wearing my band alone. Wear your engagement ring on the right hand on your wedding day and after he puts the wedding band on, then switch your engagement ring over to it. You can wear either ring on top of the other. Good Luck!!!!
