Send a letter to the Commanding Officer of the base with your sons name on the outside of the envelope. Your son could be choosing not to contact you, that happens all the time with military folks. I have a brother that doesn't get the clue I don't want to have anything to do with him, but he keeps sending stuff to me as long as he can keep up with all my transfers. If you know the base you can look up the base address online. Just type in NAS Key West Florida and you should come up with the mailing address for the CO. That office should forward it along. Your son may or may not repsond but you tried.. If it is an important family matter, use his SSN and contact the American Red Cross to do a message to him.

I am a 15 year navy vet and the wife of a retired sailor so I hope that I can help you out. You have several options. Probably the eastiest for you and the most embarassing for him would be to contact the Red Cross. You can contact his commanding officer or if you have the number to his command's ombudsman you can call him/her. The ombudsman is a spouse of a military member attached to a command who has direct communication with the commanding officer/executive officer. Get ahold of the Fleet and Family Support Center. Also it would be helpful to know the name of the command your son is at. Key West is a naval air station and there are tenant commands there too such as squadrons--each has its own chain of command and personnel. Below is an official Navy web page with some contact numbers that may be of help to you. Good luck!
PS Please be careful about giving out his SSN--only give out to "official" channels.

every military installation has a base locator. It is an operator, who has a listing of all military personnel assigned to the base. The number is in the phone book or on line. Just go to the navy.gov website and you should be able to get it without a problem.

Even posting his name on the net would be considered a security risk. Thats why you just can't call the base and get info.
Call the base and they can relay the message to him. Simple as that. If you have some sort of family emergency like someone dying you can call the Red Cross and they will relay a message to him as well.

the only official way to is to go through the Red Cross and request a Welfare Check. You will need his full name, social security number and last known command/address. the ARC will track him down and forward the message to his Superiors. BUT.. neither the ARC nor his bosses can force him to contact you.
his CO migh tyell at him a lot, but in the end, if he chooses not to call or write, they cannot make him.

except you qualify as a based of his, which as a discern is greater stable to get. He could desire to coach that he grants over 50% of your care and month-to-month earnings. while you're no longer his based the only time you're allowed interior the commissary is that if he's with you and is buying issues for himself. no longer all commissaries enable travelers in, some won't. The commissary and substitute are for the advert, Reserves, national guard and their spouses & babies.
