I see it all the time, not just my questions but in almost everyones questions. For example some one using T A as a name asked why i wasn't religious but left me no way to explain, so why bother! I like to communicate as well as read!
So I guess this question is to those of you out there that are afraid of communication!

The forum provides it's own mechanism for answers.

I don't ask many questions and enable email; but believe that the practice probably stems from a wish to avoid the inevitable confrontation some heavy handed dissenter may wish to offer.

Not all of us communicate at the same levels nor are all of us comfortable with the notion of defending our positions. I've encountered some fairly pushy individuals particularly in this forum.

I'm guessing that it is because some of them don't want to be bothered by people of the opposite beliefs sending them emails trying to convince them that their way of thinking is wrong. There are many who just post to be inflammatory and offensive and they, of course, keep their accounts email free because they know that they'd have to think if they had to read emails from others. Without having their beliefs questioned they are free to believe themselves to be geniuses who know everything & have all the answers.

I don't think these types of people even read the answers to their own questions. They probably post something to offend and move on to offending another group of people. who knows.... why do you care? I mean yeah.... you want to communicate as well as read..... but is it really worth your time and Y!A points to post this question?

It's pretty obvious why they disable emails. There are only 2 reasons for it... and i stated both above. If it bothers you that much don't try to email people anymore and you won't get upset when they have the emails disabled.

Nice that you asked this question - I've been kind of curious as well. People CAN e-mail me - but, no one has except for two people. One I have become a good friend to and we will be meeting each other - Husband's included - It's going to be real nice and a Lot of Fun! I thoroughly look forward to it.

Would be nice to hear from some - not all!

Be at Peace - Accept God's Grace!

Take Care and God Bless!

Not afraid - just don't feel it's necessary, as most of the questions are asked on a rhetorical basis, & most of the responses I would get would probably be nothing more than juvenile smartelick remarks from people who have no real answers or intelligent comments to offer.

You don't need to email us to answer our questions. Most of the times, those questions are just "food for thought". If the question should be answered, you can "edit details" and add the details to your original question, so ALL the answerers can see it.

I'll answer someone's questions, but I sure as heck don't want them emailing me!

Drives me nuts, to be honest.

And I am very afraid of communication in general, by the way.

Because, when people say bad stuff to you and you try to e-mail back, you can't! I don't even see why Yahoo makes this an option, it should be required to have e-mails be sent out. My e-mail is open because if people need further help, they can contact me like that!

I don't think it is a matter of not wanting to communicate, or else we wouldn't be on here. We like to talk to people just not as much as others.I think it's mostly because people don't want to be harassed by someone who didn't like your answer.

i have no idea why someone has their account set up that way. i think some people may not know that they have to "allow communications" and others just may be scared of it, we may never really know!
