Yep for 20 months - does that count?
Read "Waking the Warrior Goddess". You can read excerpts when you shop Amazon.com.
There is a standard of care for breast cancer that you will be offered - surgery, chemo, radiation (mamosite is the new radiation) then maybe tamoxifen, and over the next few years you will have time to research and decide that you would have made different decisions had you known all you will learn - now when you need the information. Go with your gut and never second guess yourself. I did not have chemo - I stopped taking tamoxifen. I will never be sure if these were the right decisions. My sister in law had the whole 9 yards TWICE 8 years apart and is now dieing from ALS - which has twice the rate of infection for soldiers who returned from Desert Storm and the chemical warfare there. So was it the chemo that has given her this disease? Never second guess - follow your gut (heart). Good luck sister.

I just turned 34 and finished up chemo about a week before my birthday. I start radiation on Monday and the doctors say that everything is looking great. I know it's a terrifying time when you get the initial diagnoses. It seems like you are bombarded with too much information, but yet you still need to know more.

Just take it one appointment at a time and try not to dwell too much on how long treatments will last and stuff like that. When I was diagnosed back in Dec. and the dr. was telling me about the chemo treatments I kept thinking my gosh I won't even be through with this for my kids' birthdays. That's when my hubby was sweet enough to sit me down and talk some sense into me. ;) I started looking at it as "one treatment down, only 7 more to go." It made it much easier than thinking this won't be done til June.

Good luck to you and if you'd like to talk, feel free to email. I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

extremely the survival value for breast maximum cancers is particularly fairly intense, better than ninety 5% for some varieties (there are a number of varieties of breast maximum cancers). there are quite a few sites that provide the 5 and 10 12 months survival costs for quite a few breast cancers.

I am a 3 year survivor, diagnosed when I was 49, my sister is a 14 year survivor, diagnosed in her mid 30's and our aunt is a 2 time survivor (9 years apart).

Check out Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book. It will give you all kinds of accurate and up to date information, probably more than you may want to know. Also she has a great web site with lots of info on current clinical trials.

I had breast cancer 17 years ago with no recurrence. My treatment was mastectomy, followed by 6 chemo treatments. My cancer was stage 2, mainly due to its size. I had no spread to lymph nodes. My tumor was estrogen receptor negative. Although it was a long time ago, I would be happy to answer any questions that might help you.
