religion is nothing to do with dress size! rather than just praying desparately you could go on a diet and exercise more? it's stupid to be jealous of someone for being a slim atheist because you can't expect Jesus to make you thin whenever you pray for that!

What's this, another covert attempt to assault Christians? Losing weight is easy. You dont need a special diet book or a magic (hoax) pill, and there's really no science behind it.
Proper diet and exercise = lost weight
It's this simple, burn more calories than you take in.
Save your money and get off the couch.
Avoid fried foods and eat healthier. Eat fresh food and take walks, swim, take the stairs, park in the back of the lot, stop the soda-including diet, avoid drinks that contain "high fructose corn syrup" drink water, teas, 100% juices not from concentrate, instead of the drive-thru stop at the deli and get a fresh made sandwich, tell them to put low-cal mayo on it or skip and go for the mustard etc. etc.
Hope that helps, but it really is a matter of diet and being more active

Having faith in God or not, has nothing to do with how much you weight. And getting jeolous of someone for being thin is not something Jesus would do, so are you really a follower of Jesus? maybe you need to pray about your attitude about the whole situation, not just about losing weight. i'm not trying to sound condemning, just trying to get you to think about how you sound stating all that here.
Losing weight is a matter of metabolism, good metabolism and good balanced diet and a good amount of excercise, is what keeps the weight normal. Slow metabolism makes it hard to lose weight, but its not impossible, it just means you have to work at it more.

It's not fair either that poor little children in Africa are starving to death because we are so greedy, they can't go to a fridge and choose what they want to eat for the day. Perhaps if you concentrated your prayers on something which did not involve self he might answer. There was this woman once who complained to Jesus that her cross was too heavy to bear, so Jesus let her go into the room of crosses and choose another one, she looked around and saw a small one in the corner and said to him she would take that one, Jesus replied are you sure because that's the one you were already carrying. Forget yourself for a while and pray about those who are far more needy.

Why not spend that time you were praying doing exercise.
Stop giving thanks for the excess of food and actually eat the number of calories that you need, in a healthy form.
Do it NOW before your body starts coming apart under your excess weight and you can no longer exercise.
There is no god to help you. Only you can do it. If you stay overweight you will be like that and unhappy for the rest of your existance. There is no reason to believe that you will have a second chance after you die.

I am a Christian and go anywhere from a size 1 to a size 3. . .shot your theory right down, lol.
Jealousy is one of the most, if not the ugliest traits a person can have. Confidence is the most attractive and you do not have to be thin to have confidence.
If you want to lose weight diet and exercise is the key. . .no easy way through it.

It can be truly heartbreaking to feel like your prayers aren't being answered, but you must have patience with God. Also, you have to relaize that, though he CAN do miracles, it makes more sense for you to chip in. Research some healthy, but effective diet/exercise combonations to adopt. Pray while you work out. Read your Bible afterwards to relax. Whatever you do, do not give up faith and hope.
It is entirely too easy to expect God to move on your schedule, but it is also entirely unrealistic. Be patient and work hard, He will comfort you.

Hello hateful. Can we calm down. Being thin or otherwise has nothing to do with religious beliefs or lack there of.
Some people are just naturally skinny - it's GENETICS and others work their as$'s off to look that way. Maybe you should try exercise instead of prayer. I hear that works wonders!

I don't know if I should take this question seriously or not.
In the Book of James, it says that "faith without works is dead."
Action is one of the main principles behind faith. God doesn't usually give us anything just because we pray for it. He expects us to have a plan of action and to be aggressively pursuing it. Then, if it is his will, he will help us to achieve that which we do not have the power to achieve for ourselves, after we have tried our hardest.
Hope that helps and does not seem condescending.

It's unchristian of you to resent what God has blessed them with. In fact, envy is a form of evil. Repent from that and maybe God will bless you.
You're praying, but are you also changing the way you eat and exercising?
