I have just seen someone trying to sell five week old kittens on ebay, so I sent them an email asking if they realised kittens shouldn't be re-homed until they are at least 8 weeks old, and reported them to ebay for breaking the rules - would you have done the same thing?

Their response to me was "we think that they are ready". Ebay should enforce stricter rules on this type of thing

This is the mothers third litter, she's still alive and well, according to them! I'm so angry, I have cats and I got them all when they were old enough

Yes I would have done the same. It is cruel and could cause the kittens psychological and physical harm. eBay does not permit selling live animals apart from the exceptions below;

Live Animals
Live animals or pets other than the exceptions noted here, may not be listed on eBay. The sales of the following items are permitted, provided that the seller guarantees in the listing that the animals will be packaged safely and posted via next day delivery.
Aquarium or pond fish, snails or similar creatures.
Lobsters, crabs, shellfish and other similar creatures that are live when sold but intended for human consumption.
Live insects, crickets and worms used as bait or feeder food for pets.

You can find eBay's' full policy on live animals at the link below;

Yes you did.
If I had been you I would have also contacted the RCPCA and gave them the details of the listing. This person is obviously not caring for the kittens in the right way and do not give a damn where the kittens go to.
EBay only care about violations of listings and would probably not take it further than simply removing the listing.
If you still have the details then call the RSPCA.

Definately well done you did the right thing. I mean ppl shouldnt buy kittens that young. But also how would someone get the kittens you cant send them by post lol. you never know the person who wants to buy them might go and collect them and then find out that the guy is a perv its real dangerous. You did the right thing dont feel guilty.

Yes you did the right thing.
I'm assuming that even if you could sell kittens on ebay (and I really hope you can't!), they'd have to be collected by the bidder - I don't like the idea of kitties being put in the post!

Yes. And I thought eBay had regulations about selling live animals on their site.
The person may have reported you for something else, maliciously. Did the communication you got from eBay say what rule you had supposedly broken?
If I were you I would pursue this further with eBay. Contact their dispute resolution people and follow up on the posting of selling live animals, especially ones too young to be taken from their mothers.

YES!! You definitely did the rights thing - I don't think ebay should allow live animals to be sold on there. I hope that seller gets a visit from the RSPCA as well!

Absolutely - in a heartbeat. Selling animals on e-bay is against the rules and selling 5 week old kittens is way too young.
And to all those people who post it all the time in this forum, you can't sell animals on craigslist.org either.
