My husband and I wanted to go on a cruise for our anniversary, it's for 5 days, our son will be about a year and half when we go, we would leave him with my mother and sister who watch him for me everyday anyway when I'm at work. So you think that is too long to leave him, should we find another place to go that we can take him? I know we will miss him.

When he gets older he will have no memory of being left with your mother for 5 days. You will - your mom will but your son won't. He will be fine - go and enjoy your cruise and your husband - marriages need that. And be sure to thank your mother profusely when you return - perhaps with flowers or something special just for her.

well if he is with some one that he knows and will feel comfortible with, then its not bad. i know that you worry about him, i know i worry everyday at work for my son. i miss him so much. but that just means that you love him. you are doing a good job it sounds like, so you need to reward your self. you need some alone time with your husband, if you don't things could get tense, and that is not good in the long run for your son. its only 5 days, and you are in contact with your mom and sis, so if you have the urge to check up on them, you can!

When a couple become parents they are a family and should do things as a family. When the children are grown and leave home it is a time to do things as a couple again. It will not hurt your child to be left with his grandparent for 5 days, but your mother has raised her daughter, why should she have your child to raise now?

Your relationship with your husband is just as important as your baby boy! Go, have fun! Your son won't even remember it in 10 years. And remember... absence makes the heart grow fonder! :)

No, it will be good for the little one and you to get away. Families leave there children at an even younger age for longer. Just call him daily.

I say it's okay. if he's used to seeing them like everyday then no problem. I did that when my kids where younger (1,3) and I just pre purchased them new toys to play with while we were gone and zoo tickets etc. for fun things for them to do everyday i was gone so they are to busy to miss us. go and have fun!

if god places it on your heart find a new place to go. Give your mom and sis a break. besides you should spend alot of time with your baby, while your gone he could talk.
