A blow torch to ignite the gas???
No really I would offer him a bottle of bean-o, or some other gas suppressant..tell him that it is offensive and the bathroom is down the hall..

He evidently thinks it's cool or doesnt care about your feelings or sense of smell.
Go to an office supply store and buy a little bell that you see in lobbies, you know those little chrome ones that you tap on for service.
Each time he farts hit the bell several times. He will certainly ask why you are doing that and I am sure any other employees in the area will ask as well. Hit the bell enough and he will be embarassed that everyone knows he is passing gas.
As long as this is not a medical condition that he might have ... talk to your supervisor and file a claim of harassment against the fart welding co-worker. Something will be done if it comes to this point of action.
Remember you have your rights and space also.

Perhaps he has a medical problem - or really loves collards etc. But it's the same with any other offensive odor or habit - he needs to know that what he's doing is offensive and that he needs to handle it.
Ask to speak with him privately. Tell him that his gas problem is disturbing your work and you would appreciate it if he would find some way to handle it.
Document this - if it's a frequent problem despite the fact that you've mentioned it to him, then take it up with your boss. Let her deal with it.
Finally, if you don't get relief - take it up with personnel. You have a right not to be suffocated.

My Mom who has a office job uses a scented candle whenever she gets a client that doesn't bathe of can't help the smell. Try that. I work at a library so no bad stinks there.

Does the guy rip one in the bosses office? I would try to tell the boss. Kind of like having a coworker who doesn't bathe.

Tell him to excuse himself to the bathroom the next time he need to fart, that its very rude.

Buy him some Beano and a cork and leave it on his desk. Get a small portable fan for your desk and point it in his direction. Also, show him where the toilet is located.

You can tell him that you are goin to light the next one if he doesn't quit. Ask him to please check his shorts because that last one may have not been a fart. Send him to a sex-toy shop for a butt-plug.

a fan if available or just plain ask him to remove himself from the area until he's done passing gas or start gagging and ask what the hello is that smell ??don't tell me someone keeps passing gas in close quarters , who ever it is please go to the men's room and stay until your gas FREE !!
