No wonder troop morale is at an all-time low. Bush is forcing our millitary to deploy our troops to the breaking point. Not even in WW2 did our soldiers spend so much time in combat zones without breaks.

Shame on the republicans and their hair-brained occupation of Iraq. We are going to have a whole new generation of disabled veterans because of this sham of a war.

Gosh, it should be the other way around and they should all be brought back home to friends, family and safety. This war is only planting the seed of hatred.

Gosh... a quick check of the Congressional Minutes doesn't show any military pay-cuts in the last decade, nor any plans FOR a pay-cut... so half of you query goes right out the window.

Someone said Congress sets the budget... they are half-right... they approve the President's budget requests, and then the President signs the budget. President Bush would, in my opinion veto ANY budget that included military pay-cuts.

And don't blame it just on Republicans... Democrats voted for authorization of force in Iraq also. And the Military was downsized by an 8 year Democratic Administration from 1992-2000. If we had the troops of 1992, we'd be in FAR better shape.

before everything, there is not any PAY decrease! the protection tension pay scale is authorized and funded and no decrease is planned. As for extending their stay, it particularly is a tactic to objective and conquer the shortfall of workers. Recruiting interior the protection tension has fallen lots that troop tiers won't be able to be maintained devoid of extending deployments. think of that! human beings no longer willig to bypass into an unjust war? How dare they!

Still at it I see, troop morale at an all time low. What do you base this on, having been with the troops.... NOT....

Your still in front of your computer with half baked ideas that your some sort of intellectual...... NOT

The Troops morale is doing fine and they have had no pay CUTS. The deployment schedule is in fact over-burdened, so why don't you enlist and take one of those slots and help out a poor, tired, soldier!

Since it is a Democratic Congress that is setting the military budget - this is an example of how the liberals 'support' the troops.

The military has gotten more raises under this administration than any since Reagan.

The size of the Army was cut by 1/3 under Clinton. Tours could be shorter if we still had those other divisions.

Does supporting the troops include be-littling everything they do-----like you do?

When did Congress cut their pay? Yea, that's right--Congress. Congress sets the budget.

Who says troop morale is at a all time low? The media puts one or two disgruntled soldiers on the air and all of a sudden everybody's morale is low. Son, their is always one or two disgruntled soldiers. When I was in the service 30 years back, I was told if nobody in my command wasn't complaining, that's when you had a problem.

And we have another liberal talking opinion instead of facts... I saw more pay raises while I was in the military under the Bush admin, than the Clinton.... The Democrats are the ones always cutting the funding... Get your facts straight before you waste our time with these kinds of questions....

part of supporting the troops is giving them what they need to finish the job , this includes support from home instead of whining about something they clearly support themselves
