My wedding will be on Dec 22 and I am having a hard time deciding what colors to use (for bridesmaid's dresses, accents, etc.). I do NOT want to use Christmas colors at all...no red or dark green. Are there any other colors that would be good for a winter wedding?

Try blue and silver, still wintery without being too Christmas-y! You can use any shade of blue but my pick would be something just a bit darker than royal blue but not a quite a navy blue.

I'm not an expert or a fashion Guru, but I do drive a Rolls Royce bridal car every week and I get to see the results of these 'Dress choices' first hand and close up.

My experience is that any bold colour can look great or a disaster and the fine line between those two states is very slim indeed. Be careful.
Lighter colours or pastels ( although not so brave ) are always a safe bet. I was at a wedding recently where all the bridesmaids had a different pastel shade dress ( matching flowers), just a bit different but very nice.
Go with your own taste just remember, it is often not the style or colour of the dress, but how it looks on YOU!
Avoid the usual bad taste clangers:-
Don't show your underwear (very Tacky)
Don't look like you have been Tango'd ( Fake tan)
If a shorter dress..wear stockings or tights..NOT BARE LEGGED.
Cover up..Brides look terrible showing off too much fat tum and boobs ( yeah we know its fashion)
Cover up your tattoos. ( They will look really common when your grandchildren see your album in 30 years time)
If you are fat, a loose fitting dress which covers your BASSOOM is more tastefull.
Lastly..don't get photographed having a fly drag on a ciggy!
Just look cool, dignified and have a great day.
Remember to tip the Driver.

Well... you could go with some cold colour like blue or violet but not too many dark. I think that violet would be best. But has to be very light. If I had a wedding in December i would choose violet. And red and dark green are not what i call that much nice for a bridesmaid's dress (just in my opinion).

Hey!! My wedding is Dec. 21st!! Our colours are apple red, white, and accents of gold and black. Since you said no red or green, I would suggest maybe a blue, and silver or a purple and gold. Both would be beautiful! I just went to a wedding that was a dark blue and had silver as an accent colour, it was very nice and sophisticated! Good luck and congrats!!! ♥

Many of the magazines have been favoring silvers/grays for wintry weddings.
I think a warm glow would be a nice ambiance for your chilly wedding. Think lots of candles with vanilla and champagne accents.
Because it is winter you may not want to lean towards bright spring colors... but it's totally your call, it is your wedding of course!!
You could use black in a lot of ways. My favorite bridesmaid dress of all time was a chic and simple tea length black dress. All of the bridesmaids looked classy but the bride stood out with her ivory dress very clearly.

I think a Gold and Ivory wedding would look fantastic in winter. The colors just seem to show the richness you'd want in a winter wedding.

Blues are popular for winter weddings.

Go to the hardware store! Send the fiancee off to play with powertools and hightail your butt to the paint aisle. Pull down paint chips and wall papers to your hearts content and narrow it down to three or four groups that fit the mood and look you want for the wedding. Call the fiancee back and choose one together. Save a few sets the samples. Add one set to your planning book. The others you can take with you while you are shopping or give to vendors when you want them to color match. It saves headache too because you can just show him the blue you are talking about. Guys don't generally know the diff. between sky blue and robins egg, they just know it's blue.

Any deep jewel tone will look lovely in the winter.

Do you have a favorite color? I'd go with that, or if your favorite color is very light, a deeper version of it - think deep blue, burgandy, deep purple, etc.

And, of course, you can't EVER go wrong with black - it's seasonless, elegant - and it goes with every color, so your accent options are endless. :)

My bridesmaids wore black gowns, and carried a bouquet of red roses. We tied the roses' stems with a silver ribbon, just for a little bit of an accent.

Its really up to you but my dad is an interior designer.......I would go with colors like cream and maroon. accent with wine colored candles, and mix reds, pinks, and whites for a nice flower accent. I know you said no reds, but warm tones are good for a winter wedding. Another idea is to do creams and light blues.

Ooh, I LOVE answering wedding questions! For the brides maids, I would suggest teal, lavender, or even yellow. It all depends, you could have either your favorite color or a bright sunny color, such as yellow, light blue, or (If your a girly girl) bright pink! But what I would really like would be teal or lavender. Have a wonderful wedding, and I wish you the best!
