Dear Friend,
It is not God who makes us transgress, it is Satan!
Consider the following:
James 1:13
When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
God loves you, and wants you to come to him, He would not tempt you and risk losing you, It is Satan, the Tempter who does this.
Matthew 4:3
The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
God Bless You

It may be easy to transgress, but the point is that we don't have to if we want not to. With the help of the Spirit of God. Sin doesn't come from God.

This is what I like to call, the deceitfulness of sin: it starts innocently or with something seemingly insignificant. Before you realize it, you are in too deep, to emotionally attached or entangled. There is enjoyment and pleasure in sin, but often people forget the consequence of sin (Ezekiel 18:4)
- the deception of sin is that you don't have to pay for your sin right away, Just because God doesn't punish people instantly, people feel its safe to do wrong (Ecclesiastes 8:11)
There is an alluring power in sin - it agrees with our fleshly nature - it looks good, it feels right, and it seems reasonable. But the Bible says, that we have to die to our flesh daily
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 - "...you must deny yourselves many things that would keep you from doing your best...Like an anthlete I punish my body, treating it roughly, training it to do what it should, not what it wants..."
No, God doesn't make it easy to sin - it's easy because you have no relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ; you have chosen to ignore your conscience - and the more you ignore it, the harder it is to hear. So you are left with a seared conscience - one that is not easily pricked by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
-- Everyone who has sinned has violated their conscience in someway or another and have altered it to fit what they desire. The deeper the relationship with the Lord Jesus, the harder it is to sin.

The basic argument is not about sin or how easy it is to transgress. It is about whether or not you believe in god (I presume you mean the Christian god?). I find it difficult to reconcile the concept of a loving god with one who allows sin and suffering and famine and war etc etc etc and find the 'free will argument an intellectual cop out.

"told"?
Well, you R partially right.
Consider this:
At what age do you believe we can begin to realize why our parents said "no", slowly weaned us off the second warning, and commensed to dealing with us how ever far we decided to take it? The word "parent" is not only a title but consists of action - it's a job - and so is being a son and/or daughter (family) by growing forward.
Wouldn't personal responsibility be the closest and most wise definition to our own learning experiences starting within our childhood? For those who haven't started this it's always better late then never. I know many don't ever grow up but then some of us choose to lead a beneficial life ~ it's no secret that life is all about choices (free-will).

You know it is easy to transgress. It's just as easy to be forgiven.
When a Christian truly comes to know the Lord and have a relationship with the Lord sin becomes less and less second nature.
We all falter and make mistakes but by and large it's what I've seen.

The essence of sin, in the Christian understanding, is putting yourself in the centre of everything (where God should be) and pushing God out to the margins. And yes, you only have to look around you to see how easy that is to do and how many people do it.
The Church would only be lying in this matter if it denied these truths - and I for one have never heard it do so.

No, God makes it so easy to REPENT!
We humans are weak, we could never in our history keep any covenant with God, that is why he finally sent his Son to be the new Covenant with ALL men, not just the Jews.
With Jesus, we now have the Sacraments, which are our new tools to bring us happiness on earth and eternal life in heaven. God has made it easy for us to stay in his grace AND be happy on earth.
Just because we have a history of sin, does not mean that God wants us to sin. Sin never brings lasting happiness, and God wants us to be happy in this life!
Peace and God Bless!

God does not make you sin or make it easy for you to sin. God gave us free will, so that we would choose to love Him or to turn away from him. It's easy to sin because too many of us are only concerned about what feels good to us now.

The definition of sin is Missing the Mark. That is simply not measuring up. To measure up to God's standard we would have to be perfect from birth as well as not being born to the line of Adam. So it is not that sins are so bad it is that we cannot do anything about it without help.
