you should go to church because the pastor has studied the Bible for years and can explain it to you much better if you yourself read it. Of course you can understand some of it, but The Holy spirit can do much better. I go to Bible study every week and the pastor explain in way that I had never thought. I learn new lessons by participating in BIBLE, but without that I would learn very little.

If you are serious about bible study I will recommed several options 1. the internet is full of online services and teachings. Here are a few Pastors I listen to (harvestradio.org
wisdomcenter.tv.) 2. You will only grow when you are in continual fellowship with other believers...period ( Heb. 10:25)
There is a church for you...not perfect, not without faults, but one where your gifts and calling will be perfected.(This is not an option for a believer) Pray and earnestly seek one today :)

Try reading a book called "what does the bible really teach".
Written by the Watch Tower Society. It has questions on each page and shows you the scriptures that pertain to the thoughts and it covers the truths of the bible that the churches don't talk about.

Kay Arthur has many good Bible study booklets as you read each book of the Bible.
I love watching Prophecy in the News on the internet @ www.prophecyinthenews.com J.R.Church and Gary Stearman are great prophecy teachers and due great respect for their dedicated lives of studying the Word of God.
Just purchasing a good Study Bible will show you how to have Bible study at home.

I suggest reading the bible front to back. OK- so skip the Hegat begat Shegat stuff. It's really very interesting once you get started. Although, it will take time. Reading tends to make people tired. I would also use an older bible. As they are changing the words/meanings. I don't go to church either.
