When God calls down the death Penalty on all false prophets (Deut. 18:20)..Would'n't it be prudent, even Godly for you to start looking into the acusations of false prophecy in your own organization?
No one is asking for you to look at any material but that printed by the WBTS.
Doesn't scripture Jer17:5 and others urge you to make sure that you are following in accurate faith..."keep testing as to the truth of your faith......"

Paula you are so terably wrong....God is never wrong! He does not start off being dumb and then say "oh I just received LIGHT, I need to change my mind"...Stop accepting the JW line about LIGHT...The WBTS claims to be the MOUTHPIECE FOR GOD ALMIGHTY" God condems false prophets ....WHY do you think that scripture is in the Bible in the first place? THINK GIRL Use your mind.
It is this simple ...When they speak for GOD, and are wrong, They didn't speak for God in the first place, and if not led by God , then who are they led by?

Benny Hinn is more accurate in prophecy than the WBTS.

Since no one is making prophesy today that premise is wrong in your question.(But you know that)

We accept that as imperfect humans sometimes we don't understand things exactly. There was a time Witnesses celebrated x-mas, then after more study realized it was something to leave alone. Argue as you will what Proverbs 4:18 makes clear. Even Daniel knew there were things that would not become clear until a much later time.

I'm willing to let my life stand before Jehovah. If the end of this system comes tomorrow, I'll accept gladly the responsibility of my choices for worship. I'm sure you will as well.

So, how does it feel attempting to discredit your former brothers and sisters and Jehovah on a public forum?

*Quote:"Suzette ...It is my hope to help with blind devotion...Will one of the JW's PLEASE address the WBTS speaking for GOD in error....I am not talking about holidays i am talking about prophecy...Gods prophecy...no ones mind will get around that factoid." End quote*

Especially it seems, you. No one in the organization say they speak for God. Or are offering prophecy today. That is an erroneous statement often made by people who have some private ax to grind, usually folks who were disfellowshipped.
The governing body do their best, and as someone else already said, as imperfect men sometimes mistakes are made, and if you process a humble heart you understand that. If you are looking for infallibility in humans you are going to be constantly disappointed. I don't have a problem with the corrections that happen occasionally. I understand. And no, I wasn't raised J.W., and No I'm not brainwashed or brain-dead, or fool-hardy. I investigated, I still investigate and until the end of this system I will keep looking into things. However, I am NOT going to abide apostate material or thinking. I know where it comes from.

I don't know why you wanted to connect to me on yahoo answers, but whatever floats your boat.

I have been a Jehovah's witness for many years and yes I have noted that from time to time the Faithful and Discreet slave has had to change their views on many things. However, at Proverbs 4:18 it tells us that the light keeps getting brighter and brighter. I once heard a talk from a Brother who is a member of the governing body and he asked if any of us had wondered why and how does changes take place in Jehovah's organization. He said that perhaps you realize something is not correct or needs to be changed and you wonder why hasn't anyone else seen this. He stated that Jehovah kindly waits for others to start feeling the same way and to realize it then the change is made. We must not forget that the governing body is imperfect , just like you me and everyone else. But , Jehovah's Witnesses are the only organization that is strictly following the Bible. More so that any other group. I have read your responses to different things and I understand why you would be frustrated but in due time Jehovah does correct all matters. I know I have been there. But, Jehovah still uses us, although imperfect, to do his will.

Dear Lemming Princess,

I was not going to answer since I am not a Watchtower Witness, however after seeing Jari's answer I want to make a distinction.

You say: Would that not apply to all christian... denominations?

I does not apply simply because Christian denominations have not prophesied specific dates for Armageddon. I have lost track of how many times I have made reference to Deuteronomy 19:20-22 but I guess it is needed again. God tells everyone who HAS EARS TO HEAR that if a person or an organization speaks on God's behalf but the prophecy that is given does not take place then that is a FALSE prophet.

Today I read Psalms 104-106 in The Daily Walk Bible. Take a look at Psalm 105:19. The Psalm is talking about Joseph who was sold into slavery in Egypt.

"till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the LORD proved him true."

I have not heard of any Christian denominations making prophecies. If they do then the same verses would apply to them as well.

The Watchtower however did give specific dates for Armageddon and God proved them FALSE. They have repeatedly told me that "everybody makes mistakes." However God NEVER EVER makes mistakes.

For His glory,
JOYfilled

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
(1 John 4:1)

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
(2 Peter 2:1)

...they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
(Acts17:11)

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness...
(2 Corinthians 11:14-15)

If the WBTS is guilty of what you are accusing them of, then why does Jehovah allow the WBTS to have the biggest printing facility in the world? Printing Bibles and publications in more than 240 different languages, 11 different languages in Braille! Jehovah’s blessing is also seen in that Jehovah’s Witnesses publish the most widely distributed Bible-based publications in all history.

If the WBTS is directly going against the will of Jehovah and spreading false information, the organization will not flourished.

But the fact that Jehovah is behind this earthly organization, is proof that we are under the light that gets brighter and brighter...

I KNOW I have the truth...

Ok, i am starting to notice that you have something against the Jehovah's Witnesses. I've noticed that most of your questions are posted for them to answer and with bitterness. It seems like your are trying so hard.... too hard as a matter of fact to get them to disown the Watchtower Society; not necessarily Jehovah??? Do you believe in Jehovah? Just not the Watchtower Society?

Why do you have so much bitterness towards the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society?

I am sure some (maybe not all) Jehovah's Witnesses would like to know. I sure want to know although I am not a JW myself. What gives?

JWs are not Prophets they are Jesus disciples. Jesus gave a mandate to preach about the kingdom and HE was the one that prophesied the end of the system of things would occur when the preaching work is done over the entire earth. JWs like the Jews of the past await for Jesus, knowing from Jesus signs of his presence that it will occur soon and warn others to stay awake!

Mat 24:42 - "Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming."

Jehovah's Witnesses have never pretended that they are infallible or inspired. Jehovah's Witnesses have never pretended that they experience miraculous messages from God or Christ. For more than a century, Jehovah's Witnesses have always presented their suppositions as the result of sincere bible research, rather than as "predictions" or "prophesying".

Interestingly, however, even those Christians who did enjoy direct communication from heaven at times came to wrong conclusions; these wrong conclusions were even communicated "out among the brothers"!

For example, the apostle Peter enjoyed remarkable privileges in the early congregation, but it seems that he was the source of an incorrect teaching about the apostle John that was not formally corrected until several DECADES had passed, and John himself finally wrote his gospel about 98 C.E.

(John 21:21-23) Peter said to Jesus: “Lord, what will this man do [that is, the apostle John]?” Jesus said to him: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you? You continue following me.” In consequence, this saying went out among the brothers, that [the apostle John] would not die. However, Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you?”

Jehovah's Witnesses apply the term "prophet" only in a very limited sense to themselves as a religion, not to individuals. The Scriptures indicate that whenever Jehovah purposes to execute judgment upon a people, he always makes arrangement for a 'prophet's work' as a warning. Their self-description as a "prophet" (in this limited sense) does not indicate special inspired knowledge or foreknowledge, but their willingness to perform Christ's assigned warning work in our day leading up to Armageddon.

What group is working harder than Jehovah's Witnesses to preach God's message globally (as Noah did before the Deluge)?

(Amos 3:7) For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.

(2 Peter 2:5) Noah, a preacher of righteousness...

(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
