Not the end of the world.... the end of this system of things. Many people confuse the two. But yes. Scriptural prophecy leads us to the time period we are living in as "the last days".
To those who say, for instance that there have always been wars: Yes, that is very true, but consider this please. More people have been killed in wars since the start of the 20th century than in all wars before that. Also the killing capacity of weapons today is far greater than ever before. Think Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Think nuclear weapons.

If I live to be 70 I might live next to the end of the world. Issac Newton used biblical clues to estimate a time around 2060, but not before. I think that this is probably more accurate that others, because he didn't influence the interpretation so that it would occur during his lifetime. Even though no one knows the exact time, we can observe clues and look at the prophesies without bias to be aware of the general happenings.

Wait. It isn't enough to believe in a invisible magic man, now you are claiming that there are magical spells and portents that convey to you that the invisible man is going to end the world.
So you guys believe in dragons (St. George the Dragon slayer), an invisible magic man, Noah (not utnapishtim from Gilgamesh), Jesus (who was stabbed by a spear in the side. Hmmmm, that happened to Odin too!), the Ten Commandments (which are just made up to keep most of you under church power see: George Carlin) that none follow, and in a woman who was impregnated by a god. (That never happened before. Achilles, see Zeus, Oden, et al.)
Not to mention a magical garden where nothing was wrong, but the Apple of Knowledge. Proof that, if your God did exist, in your holy book, knowledge is a sin. Why is that? Is the figment of your imagination afraid you will know it as a fiction.
And won't you be pissed as you die when there is no afterlife?

The biblical signs are so vague that they have been fulfilled for the last 1980 years.
There have been hundreds of End Of The World predictions from the year 30 though to this year.
So far they all have conspicuously failed to happen.

you mean this time?...the new testament books( especially revelations) were written with the idea of the apocalypse happening RIGHT THEN AND THERE, at that very time in history like it was going to be any minute now...and every era since has been interpreting 'signs' of the times and preaching the end is near...lol...and the 'faithful' keep falling for it every stinkin' time...don't you people EVER get tired of being played for suckers by the church?...when are you going to wake up and smell the proverbial coffee?...come on!

No. It may be the end of human inhabitants soon as all the religious zealots fight it out for the good of their god (and, of course, the 72 beautiful virgins). Just look at all the prominent christians stashing away their riches on earth instead of giving it away to gain riches in heaven.
Religion: Look here brother, who you jiving with that cosmic debris!

People have believed they were living in the end of times since the dawn of time. Obviously, they were incorrect.
I don't get it. Does it make people feel special to believe they are living in end times? Does it make them feel more spiritual or do they just want to say, "Told ya so" before their apocalypse materializes?
Either way, the world will not end by the hand of "god".

Name a period of history where there wasn't a war, plage, pestilence, famine, hurricane, earthquake, tidal wave, eclipse or any other phenomina attributed to the "signs" of the end of the world. Nothing is much different now than it was several thousand years ago.

The end of the world has been coming for 2000 years, each generation, including ours, can find references in the Bible.
Nobody knows when, that's why you want to be right with God.

Good grief, NOOOO!!!! It is not the end of Earth--She is changing & adapting on her own, however, the Changes are upon us as a species--as a society of beings, and life as we know it now will change in process...just as life 100 yrs. ago has changed to what we know of now...See??? It is simply the process of change...it is never-ending, and very much a constant in the evolution of Creation...not something to fear, since it has been this way since Day One...yes???
