God did everything just right.
If man was created on the first day,
that means he would be swimming on an endless water world, without a solid ground to put his feet. He would be swimming in darkness since there was darkness first before there was light. Can you imagine that!! Wow!
But God who is all wise created everything in the right order and prepared a beautiful landscape world for mankind to freely roam. After God formed man on the sixth day, he rested on the seventh day and appointed that day to be set aside for His children to worship and fellowship.

On the evening of the sixth day, God put Adam in a deep sleep, took the rib from the man (genetic DNA), and built the woman from it. God created the woman last, not man. The first is last.

There is a very clear reason why God created man last. You should be able to figure out the answer rather easily. Here's a clue: if man were created first, where would he live?

It appears that GOD had second thoughts about creating man.Mind you, it must have been a really tough decision even for the GOD.Have a serious look at the end product ie the MAN and you may wish to agree, after some initial hesitation.

Procrastination .....
I'm sorry, but if you read some of these answers, they smack of cave paintings and ceremonial dance stories around the savages' campfire at night where different painted dancers tell the story of the great spirit god who makes the sky and the land to honour and brings the water to drink and animals to eat (and play with) and the Mother Sun to warm us and then the people worship the god master with offerings of fruit and pelts. It's silly that people believe this ludicrous biblical story of creation and still call themselves civilized, contemporary adults of the 21st century.

Maybe man was an after thought. Or maybe it's because man couldnt survive without all of the things God created first. We would have died before he finished making everything else.

Well, if he created man before he separated the firmament from the water, and before he created air, man would die.

He created things in the order that they needed to be created in, so man was created last because he needed the things created in the days before already there in order to survive.

God created all these things FOR man and saw that they were good. Before man could exist, he needed to have food to eat, water to drink, air to breathe, sunlight, etc. It would have been a rather cruel existence if man were sitting in darkness with nothing to eat for a week. *grin*

Because he had to create a suitable environment for life before he actually created life itself. I personally wouldn't be particularly happy with living with perpetual darkness until god found the light switch, I'm sure it would be the same for everyone.
